Bundle of Holding

Just a heads up, the three core Amazing Adventure books are currently on Bundle of Holding. Right now, it's just $23 to get all three plus a bunch of other great looking books. :D

Re: Amazing Adventures quick start?

TLG has changed their approach to introductory modules/quick start rules. The original adventure has been redone as a full adventure module; if/when TLG releases it, I'm not sure. At some point I will do another that will use the new quick start approach but my plate has been very full with project...

PDF Updates

I was wondering who the best person to request updates to the PDFs would be. There are two specific ones I'm noting. First, "C&C TLG 8023 A4 Usurpers of the Fell Axe" doesn't appear to have been updated when the rest of the line was. While the picture shows the newer blue line, when you download it,...

I would much rather see 64 page mini-settings like Polyhedron Magazine used to do. I love mini-settings.

Which setting book is recommended to work with this? 1E? 3E? Tales from the Lance Boxed Set?

Re: Swords and Wizardry

There are flaws in OD&D, mostly in the presentation. However, the "flaws" you mention seem to be an indictment of the class/level system more than an indictment of the game. The class and level system is a huge part of the game. To separate the two is disingenuous. I believe the misconception that ...

Re: Amazing Adventures Pre Orders Now Open!

According to the most recent press release from Troll Lord, AA will ship next week. As for the PDF I'm not sure. They'll have to answer that one. Well, they answered that; it's going out today. But I still can't buy the PDF without paying shipping. Argh. I've tweeted them, Facebook'd them and email...

Re: Swords and Wizardry

It's not all that balanced, there are arbitrary limits for characters and most people find the game relies on house rules to be playable. It's fun if you have a desire to play D&D 0E, but I wouldn't choose it for a primary game for any other reason than that.

Re: Swords and Wizardry

It's still 0E D&D with all the inherent flaws. Which is great, but do you really think you'll ever want to play a game of that instead of C&C? Plus the rules are available online, so if you're only going to play a one off, why not just use that instead? (All opinions are written for the express purp...

Consolidated Store

Any chance the Trolls will offer an option to migrate the PDFs from RPGNow to this site? I know RPGObjects did that in the past. I'd love it for two reasons. First, I hate the watermarking on RPGNow. I know I can remove it through PDF editing, but it takes so long. Second, it would be nice if their ...

Re: C&C - The simplest, most streamlined d&d game?

It entirely depends on what you consider essential to D&D. For example, I could make a variant of D&D with just one ability score (Skill) and one tracked number (Life Points) and if all I considered D&D to be was rolling dice and killing monsters, it might be the most streamlined version for me. On ...

Re: C&C Spelljammer

How much of Spelljammer do you actually want to use? There's Fast Play rules at Spelljammer.org , Andy Collins has 3e versions of the classic races and the Archive of the old D&D Classic Downloads page has deck plans. If you're just looking for some basic ship rules, the new races and some ships, th...

Favourite Setting Elements

I'm looking to start a new game of C&C soon, and I'm currently looking at settings. So far, I've looked at Aihrde, Haunted Highlands, Dark Sun, Spelljammer and Freeport. As I'm looking them over, I'm having to consider what makes an interesting setting for me. Surprisingly the answer for me seems to...

Just bought this one too. I'm trying to decide if it's worth purchasing The Pirate's Guide to Freeport as I tend to gut campaign settings for their tone and mechanics, rather than using the locales and such.

Due to the happy news on the TLG Twitter feed, I've decided that it's time to purchase a PDF or two. I'm fairly tempted to get some of the Haunted Highland stuff, but would rath...
