Bingo, me either. The topic title and story seems disconnected to me. Also thats a nice magic item for only 400 gp.

Re: Initiative

I like rolled and then static initiative. I prefer the seamless rotation benefit over the drama and suspense for common battles. However in important battles I like to change it up to the official round per round method.

Is there a podcast/netcast for CnC?

2nd Edition has: Thaco's Hammer Pathfinder has some: Know direction comes to mind. Is there one (fan based or official) for CnC? If not, would anyone be willing to do one? Post a pregen for CnC

Pregen a character and post it: In the future if anyone had a complete newb to the game or rpgs in general and wanted to jump in real quick you could just pull it from this thread! I'll post one later. I say feel free to use Peter's Crusader Companion as well if you'd like.

Re: The german influence on names in C&C

Yeah I'm not looking at the origins and history so much as these 'heims' 'dorfs' 'berg' 'stat'. I studied German for two semesters in high school in the mid 90s then when I worked at a local college in the library. The library director taught classes on it. Don't get me wrong I like the German cultu...

The german influence on names in C&C

I have to admit I prefer a straight up fantasy influence. The german sounding names to me makes oh so slightly (not hard mind you) more difficult to keep the mood going. I just think they are ugly words to say and detract somewhat. It's just a personal dislike and I know I can (and do) rename things...

Re: movement and casting

Eh, I don't know the official answer. I would allow the 5 ft step and casting. I don't see how that's going to be a game breaker. Really I don't see the harm in moving half movement and still casting. A round is 10 seconds long so assuming it took you 5 seconds to go your half speed movement you'd s...

Little long, if you want the short version, here you go: *I am a real person, convert, number, statistic, you can count as 5e affecting (is that right?)in favor C&C.* So...I have played C&C a few times before (see my join date) and always loved it. Re: How to handle.... (Siege checks)

Party escaping a landslide? 'I'd require dex checks' Building a boat? How big? If small like a raft, or canoe I'd have them do an Int Check. If its too big or complex and it's not in the background they probable don't possess the skill to do it and no check will necessarily alleviate that. Hunting, ...

Checked them out, but I can see no real common thing that links them. *Some say: Town, Dungeon, Overland, but then there are ones that say straight up dungeon in them as well. This is multiple categories. *The categories run the breath of levels Hmm, are they just separated for separate's sake? Anyo...

Re: starting a group

A couple of things to try: Put up a flyer with your number and offer to host a 2 hour demo. Offer a one shot adventure to some of your pals with pregens. I find (personally) the number one reason people don't want to try a new game is not because they utterly adore their current game. It's just they ...

Hello, Veteran player of C&C here.
