Resources Then & Now (SRD 5.1)
With all the recent BS with regards to the OGL and the release of SRD 5.1 to Creative Commons, I decided to dive into it for a quick look. When the OGL first came out, and thanks to the earlier SRD that came with it, enterprising hobbyists and publishers put that older SRD to good use and released u...

Ballista Adventures Kickstarter
As a handful of you might have heard, Arcana Creations has been trying to dig itself out of obscurity! We've just launched a Kickstarter campaign just a few days ago to publish 5 adventure modules. The are OSR friendly, d20-friendly, and above all... extremely compatible with Castles & Crusades....

Re: Kickstarters
The guy is an ass. I am, by no means, a delusional fanboy. I have been (fairly) critical of past releases and continue to do so. My history of various reviews on my blog a testament to this. But my entire point (as well as trying to take the thread down a notch in terms of negativity) was to try an ...

From what I remember presentation is a tad different but content is pretty much the same. So much so that I parted with my physical copy of the Black Libram.

Re: Kickstarters
Well, the Trolls royally screwed up with the print version of Victorious. Amateur editing mistakes. Mistakes I submitted myself for correction. It looks to me like they went to print with the very first PDF they released to us backers. Very, very, very disappointing. Oh... as an aside, I hear you T...

Wow... There is a lot of venom in this thread. Perfection is fleeting and at the end of the day, we're meant to have fun with this game are we not? Is the material absolutely unusable? I would say no. It is not. Even if somethings don't work or there is a screw up here or there (question of hit dice...

Re: [AA] The Book of Powers
Available in digital now... Victorious and Amazing Adventures are truly their own things and yet, along with C&C, maintain a wonderful Synergy. I'm listed as a Play Tester for the Book of Powers and when I was going through the material, I can honestly say that Victorious didn't enter my mind si...

Crap! I just posted a reply and it got timed-out when I submitted. <sigh> Believe me when I say it was insightful but I'm done with that now. ;) Suffice to say that I've backed every single Kickstarter they have done and they ALWAYS deliver. Pat, I assume you were contacting the Trolls? I never heard from you? Rigon, Yeah....I can just hope they change it for when it goes into distribution. Beyond the fact that "Night of the Jackals" was the title of a Cthulhu by Gaslight adventure, I think A Night for Jackals just sounds bet...

Re: What other rpgs do you like to play?
My games seems to be all at a practical standstill. I haven't run C&C aside from demos this year (much sadness about this) but at least I've got my Call of Cthulhu game (7e) going. Call of Cthulhu has become a favourite. I've had the chance to play a bit of Cortex Classic and I'm playing in some...

Well, I know I reached out TWICE to see about getting the spelling of my name corrected under playtesters. Not sure if it got done or not but I fear I'll be disappointed when I get my regular and leather copies of the book.

They are fantastic books and if you liked the first two books, you'll simply love Germania. They certainly complement the old HR series that TSR published however I honestly have to say that the material in these inspire me so much more. Re: Are the color books worth replacing my "old" editions?
I thought about making an off coloured joke here but that would be in poor taste. Oops. ;) I think the newest colour printings are fantastic but I do have a soft spot for the B/W books. I was happy with those and, honestly, I don't care for the expanded spell content that was introduced in the 4th p...

Nope. Being a RIFTS player now, has me baffled on how you can possibly transition the game from Palladium's statistics minutia, to Savage Worlds sort of glossed over statistics. Wait... Isn't that like saying something like, I'm not sure how you can possibly transition D&D 3.5 to something like...

Re: Has anyone read Iron Tower Trilogy by Dennis L. McKierna
I must have read the trilogy 25-30 years ago or so... I enjoyed it at the time. Back then, I didn't make the LotR connection but I was reading A LOT of fantasy back then too. From the fantasy TSR novels (Dragonlance... Fortgotten Realms... etc), to The First & Second Chronicles of Thomas Covenan...

Re: Message for all C&CS and KOTC members
I agree that giving people the chance to join is the way to build the network. However, I don't believe trying to emulate the Pathfinder Society is the way to do it. Not that registering public games is a bad thing, as it does raise awareness, but we shouldn't be trying to be another Pathfinder Soc...

If you run a game at GenCon, your table will be full. Have no worries about that. ~O Absolutely true. There were a handful of games run last year at GenCon, and all of them pretty much filled up within an hour of event registration starting. I think others were added afterwards that had similar res...

Re: Please post the titles o' your favorite C&C adventures.
Shadows of the Halfling Hall is a good one. I suppose I'll have to start playing Victorious if I want more Mike Stewart adventures. I like Ruins of Ramat a lot as a C&C intro for CKs and players. Well, I have no idea about its status (or the company's) but I sold a module (For Love of Evil) to ...
