Re: innovation to help games run smoother
we roll initiative once at the beginning of each combat and it stays in that order for the rest of combat. I used to roll d10 +1 if DEX is prime, highest to lowest... Now I'm experimenting with a roll of 2d4... more centered around middle and the DEX prime can move folks out and those with special ...

Sarosious, Half Elf Ranger, 8th level Lupa-spadar Vinardi – Wolfsword Wine-son (Polite way of being called a bastard) House ruled home brew Swashbuckler class The same game as Sarosisus was in, and since Lupa was his drinking companion, that HAS to be why he is your favorite C&C character ;-) Indeed!

PJ ruined the Hobbit with that trilogy. The last 2 rank among the worst ever.

Arcane thief, Archer, Divine Knight, Ethereal Knight, Foresworn, Magic User, Oathsworn, Pacer, Primal Druid, Rune Mark, Seeker, Skald, Thief, Warrior Priest. I don't think any of these make the PHB classes obsolete. I haven't dug deep into the spells, but from a quick glance they aren't world shaking.

Looks awesome! I'm looking for a WoG map to use in play. Hard to find online, and really pricey.Retrogamer_Meph wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 10:31 pmV1.2 is up.

Never tried any Cthulhu stuff. Your MoRD was great. Cthulhu sounds a bit too much horror for me.

Failure? Not a chance Les. You put a lot of thought into the level of detail and it really showed. Had a lot of fun with it. Would love to pick it up again at some point.

Hate to do this on the first night of play, but I'm out tonight. Been feeling rotten all day. I'll try to post a character on Discord later this week for OSR to look over.

Sounds awesome. I've inserted a few one off's into my Greyhawk campaign, mostly as filler between modules. I'm running my son through a bunch of old AD&D modules already set in Greyhawk. 576 was the start of my timeline as well.

I like the "firefly" idea. A mix of trader/spy/merc. Assuming I don't die in character creation, I have an idea of what direction I want to go in.

Re: Worst fantasy movie ...
The LOTR films had a sense of care and passion behind them - the Hobbit trilogy by comparison felt like a bloated cash-out. If LOTR had never existed, maybe the Hobbit would've gotten a better reception? Same could be said for the Star Wars prequels. . . I seriously dislike the Hobbit films. Just a...

Open Discussion might be the best place here. Not to drive traffic away from this site, but there may be a place on the Trolls Discord channel where you would get more looks. Might be worth a try.

Re: Invisible scout
Well in this case, the goal was to get this gem. They knew the danger. Good thing is the rogue is an NPC that I'm playing and not either of my son's characters. He's been pretty clever so far, so I suspect the wizard that sent them on the quest will figure something out for them.

Re: Light Spell
I'd say sure it is possible. Something like have the caster make an int (or Wis if a cleric) base attack. If it hits then the spell is placed correctly on the end of the target's noes and it is now at a negative to hit. A crit puts it in its eye and blinds the target. Isn't there a blinding flash s...
