Re: What it was like to visit a Medieval Tavern

Cool. I'll find a way to incorporate some of this when the party in my campaign next returns to the City of Greyhawk.

Interesting but I won't give WotC or Hasbro even a penny anymore.
Agreed, and I haven't in quite some time. I do use legos and brick figures instead of minis though. There's some cool stuff out there.

B2 The Keep on the Borderlands
G2 The Glacial Rift of the Frost Giant Jarl (really the whole G series, but this one in particular)
I7 Baltron's Beacon
S2 White Plume Mountain

Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to play any C&C adventures.

RIP Jim Ward

Jim Ward passed away yesterday. I haven't seen any specifics yet, although I know he was scheduled to run games at GaryCon. Sad news, I'll remember his work fondly, particularly Deities & Demigods.

I'm a "no" right now. I just don't think I'd use any of them. Maybe Canting Crew? Might rethink that one.

Marmoreal Tomb box set and Warhammer 40,000 Rogue Trader (Reprint).
I had hoped to dig into the Marmoreal Tomb months ago, but still haven't gotten to it. Any thoughts so far?

I would ask this question on the Trolls Discord channel. You're likely to get a quicker response there.

Most of the adventure's I've DM'd have been old 1E modules. I have run some Advanced Adventure modules as well, which I think are written for OSE or OSRIC. Makes no difference to me, as much like Lurker I just flip the AC. I can run these on the fly, and have only run into "trouble" when t...

We'll figure it out when we get there. Disappointed there were no rooms available at the con rate for just Friday nig...

OK, folks - I submitted my C&C scenario for 2 sessions at Mythic Con West. Things Best Forgotten In the decades following the end of the centuries long Winter's Dark, society and civilization have yet to return to the jungle-filled interior of the island continent of Inklu-Naid. However, the ti...

Re: Wands/Command words

Do you need a command word to operate a Wand? I know in AD&D you do, but the description in the M&T doesn't mention it. This came up in my game yesterday. The wielder was under the effect of a Silence spell but wanted to use a wand. Thoughts? I like using "Abracadaver" as the comm...

Thanks guys. I had played it out where the wand worked even with the silence in effect. In retrospect I probably would rule the other way, but it played out well and a lot of suspense and fun were had.
