Re: New to Victorious
Hello azcromntic, Sorry for the delay, we had thunderstorms come through this weekend and the internet went out... As for the pdf, Lurker is right I'm afraid. I'd just point out that we gave many of the typo corrections to TLG prior to publication but apparently the Trolls inadvertently sent the no...

Re: New to Victorious
Thank you for taking the time to reply. My son and I were really excited about Victorious and initially our eyes were focused on the headings and major titles but once we started making characters things started down the disappointing path. AA is a lot like this as well: misspelled words, words with...

Re: Victorious Errata 2017
Okay, so this was my third edit of my post. My son and I are trying to find the 'section' on Damaging Things mentioned for the Armor superpower. Doesn't exist? Overall, the more I read this rule book the more disappointed I become about my purchase. The part about Armor superpower is the damage to t...

New to Victorious
I recently purchased the Victorious hard cover book. I'm familiar with C & C plus AA. I've noted down the errata mentioned on this thread so I can put some sticky notes in my book. My question though is if the pdf version of the rule book has the errata items fixed in it? I really like what I've rea...

Re: Accuracy balance in Sci-Fi characters in Fantasy campaig
... Btw, however, the blaster pistol to which you're referring in the Companion? It doesn't have a +8 bonus. It's only got a +4 accuracy bonus. You mean the one on page 116, right? Unless you're talking about the rifle, which has a +5 bonus. what I had said about +8 is "A 4th level Paladin with 15 ...

Re: Accuracy balance in Sci-Fi characters in Fantasy campaig
More use of the rules in play recently has revealed that the Accuracy bonus, if applied only when the player states they are using AIM combat action, works perfectly; they get the bonus plus the +2 for aiming. Multiple people in the game are combat veterans and attest to the idea that the accuracy b...

Re: Accuracy balance in Sci-Fi characters in Fantasy campaig
ewwww......maybe I should have put this post (http://www.trolllord.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=14910) over here. Bah! I've argued the same case in two threads. Ugh. I should also attempt to clarify my definition of accuracy. In the science of measuring (Metrology) yes, a rifled barrel, smokeless...

Re: Quick question about AA + CC
I don't yet think you hate me so you're safe....for now. :-) I think we'll have to agree to disagree on a lot of what you said. I just want to clarify a few things. I'm not talking about the gadget in this case. I'm talking about the Blaster Pistol in the Sci-Fi section of the AA companion book towa...

Re: Quick question about AA + CC
At 50 yards (ish) or closer, you know, where most combat in these games (and possibly real life) occurs, any benefit of accuracy for hitting center mass of an enemy is so small that it is not worth counting. At about 50 yards any bow type weapons start to break down in accuracy and then you'd be cor...

Re: Player wants healing bot
Well, the player skipped one play session and I played his bots by the rules I posted. The bots did fine, game was balanced, and the heal bot saved a Paladin twice. The player though has not responded recently and so I think they are dropping out of the game. I'll know next Tuesday. Regardless, hope...

Re: Quick question about AA + CC
I personally think it's just an excuse to get out of the game either because I suck as a GM (which I don't suck that bad) or they are just trying to pump me to give them more "power" so to speak; they're spoiled. I guess one guy who had been DM'ing D&D 3.5 for like 30 years ~might~ have a legitimate...

Re: Accuracy balance in Sci-Fi characters in Fantasy campaig
Exactly. But what is more "fair" to take away accuracy bonus or to add some misc bonus for C&C? Overall I think the most fair thing to do would be to take away the Accuracy bonus UNLESS they specify they are using the AIM combat maneuver or maybe specify they are doing a head shot or something where...

Re: Accuracy balance in Sci-Fi characters in Fantasy campaig
The +8 I mentioned is for a Blaster Pistol from the companion book. I'll read the companion book again as it may be advised to manipulate the rules for a combined AA and C&C adventure. I haven't seen anything specific about Accuracy yet though.

Accuracy balance in Sci-Fi characters in Fantasy campaign
Okay, so how is it that "guns" get an additional bonus for accuracy but ranged weapons in C & C do not get such a bonus. What I'm finding is that the C & C classes (characters) are lagging behind in hits and "kills" because the AA characters have an extra bonus to hit for the Accuracy of the weapon....

Re: Star siege
Hmmmmm....a new Star Siege along the lines of AA would have been VERY handy for my current campaign. I used to play Star Frontiers and drew some races, weapons, equipment and ideas from it to incorporate into a C & C campaign (Haunted Highlands) while also working in the AA classes and equipment. I ...

Re: Quick question about AA + CC
I just found this old thread (and I haven't even read through it yet). I am currently running a campaign where Sci-Fi (AA characters with Star Fronteirs races) are in the Haunted Highlands Fantasy setting. It's going very well except for a couple players (came from D&D 5th play) who think the rules ...

Re: Player wants healing bot
So here is what I play tested last session and it worked pretty good. The character is a 4th level Gadgeteer with 18 gadget points. The player wanted to create two different "bots"; one healing based and one attack based. General Rules ----------------- - The bots have two states: online and offline...

Re: Player wants healing bot
Your ideas are great. We incorporated some concepts from Star Frontiers which brought in the SEU units. So maybe I'll have to do something with that. Nanobots is not something I had not thought of. Although, even then I'm still wondering why they don't just buy some healing potions or use the stimdo...

Player wants healing bot
So I'm running a Sci-Fi character's in Fantasy setting adventure. One of the players is playing a Gadgeteer. I started him out at 4th level. He wants to create some floating bots like the little floating bot in the Star Wars movie that Luke was practicing with his light saber. Anyway.... One of the ...

Re: (Play-by-Post) Heroes of the Haunted Highlands
On rpol I had seen a Dwarven Cleric and Rogue for this game. I didn't read everything there so I'm guessing, judging by the current list of characters, that the Rogue and the Dwarven Cleric were not so lucky? Regardless, playing a Cleric would be taking over the NPC Cleric? What class does the party...

Re: (Play-by-Post) Heroes of the Haunted Highlands
I would like to join this game. Not real sure I want to play a cleric...I'll mull that over. I also have an "in person" game going but it seems like it is melting down. Only two players left out of five; life takes them away. I'm guessing I need to join rpol? Hmmmm...apparently I forgot to check the...

Re: Worm module
I am revisiting my rant after a LONG period off. Re: Worm module
That sounds lame, invalidating and preposterous. My folly was to allow myself to form some kind of mental allegiance with the Troll Lord (TL) products after reading some reviews, then playing some of the adventures and playing some of the competitors products. I'm continually reminded though that th...

Re: Amazing Adventures Errata and Clarifications
I received my AA books and started a game here at home: The heart of Yhitll in the core book. So far the kids and I love it. We have many ideas on tailoring the game to be more futuristic (we also found the Science Fiction section in the revised rule book for lasers and such). Anyway...I also purcha...

Worm module
In the worm module there is a map on page five that I assume is the map of a Tomb. The problem is, the map doesn't seem to match the description of the Tomb on page 8. Some of it does but I just want to verify which side is the entrance and which room contains the "stairwell going deeper into the ea...

Colorado Springs comic and toy convention
Just wondering if anyone from Troll Lord will be at this convention? It is August 29th and August 30th of 2015. Also wondering if anyone is going: I'd like to meet local players to possible CK or play a game. Thanks.

Re: Some thoughts on CK critique I received
As for PC generation, I'm curious what problems you had with rolling 4d6 and dropping the lowest die. That's by far the most popular PC generation method in D&D and C&C. How did it cause problems for you? Well lets see. I allowed the player to do that and they ended up getting an 18 and a 17 with o...

Re: Some thoughts on CK critique I received
5 deck sailing ship...obviously an inside joke or I'm just too lame to get it. Are they often also referred to as sunken treasure? I did a little search on the term gygaxian. After reading it I feel that maybe, just maybe, the player was actually trying to say that I'm NOT gygaxian. I did try to sti...
