If it's a fighter... maybe add the hit die, maybe... if it's no more than three. Otherwise, I just make it human... same alignment, class, and abilities.

I mean, can an orc even spell prestidigitator???

We're using 'non-weapon proficiencies' found in the 1e Survival Guides with a smattering of a few others... minus ones that overlap class abilities.

Two really stand out in my mind, T1-4/The Temple of Elemental Evil and S4/The Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth. Those are two that, with a few others, everyone in my group agreed had something for everyone.
