<t>My area didn't have any severe damage, but about 10 miles north of us they had at least one tornado.<br/> <br/> One of the officers from my department was sheltering in a closet under his stairs with his family while the tornado ripped the roof off his house. He told me he could feel from the cra...

Thanks.

That makes sense. I just couldn't seem to make it click in my head for some reason.

I'm sure I'll have a few more questions as I prep for this new campaign. It may take awhile for me to break away some of my mental rust.

Burning Hands Damage?

<t>Sorry if this has been asked before. I tried to search the forums, but I couldn't narrow the results enough to find an answer.<br/> <br/> I'm trying to get a C&C game started after a long hiatus from gaming, and I'm tripped up by the damage for burning hands. Is it (1d2+1) per caster level, o...

<t>Before I got hired at the Police Department, I worked for a year as a Deputy at the County Jail. (The jails in Kentucky are run by an elected Jailer, not the Sheriff like most states.)<br/> <br/> I worked with a guy that really wouldn't have passed a psych screening if we'd had one. He was the mo...

<t>I feel your pain.<br/> <br/> The group of friends that I played 2E with for several years was turned off completely by 3E. They played maybe three sessions of 3E before shelving it and going back to 2E. I enjoyed 2E for many years, but I was tired of the ever expanding rules(sound familiar) and w...

<t>Another vote for Chessex here.<br/> <br/> I bought mine online in 2001, and it looks like it will last for many years to come. I also tried Tact-Tiles, and while they are a super cool concept, I found them too bulky to be practical for me.<br/> <br/> Get a Chessex mat, a cardboard poster/blueprin...

<t>I'm no veteran Crusader, but my suggestion would be to either have everybody roll ability scores ahead of the game time, or roll several sets yourself and have them available for draw at the game.<br/> <br/> This should save some time at character creation. Then, the players can focus on the hard...

<t>I guess I'm the exception to most "old timer" gamers. <br/> I hadn't started reading any fantasy titles before I got the Moldvey boxed set for Christmas in the early 80's. My D&D experience was shaped by the fiction in those first boxed sets, and by the examples from the AD&D rule books w...

I'm very glad to hear that Necromancer Games has found a way to continue to provide gaming products. I have enjoyed several of their adventures, and am considering converting Tomb of Abysthor for a C&C campaign.

<t>This is sad news indeed. My introduction to RPGs was the Moldvay purple box/red booklet in the early 80's.<br/> <br/> After 20+ years of gaming with different systems and rule sets I've just come back to something very reminiscent of that first boxed set. I think that says a great deal about the ...

Thanks for the welcomes everybody.

I know this isn't really an "introduce yourself" thread, so I'll post about myself in a more appropriate place later.

It's good to be here. I can't wait to get my C&C PH and M&T.

<t>This isn't exactly how I expected to make my debut on these boards, but this is a topic I feel qualified to post about.<br/> <br/> I recognize a few of the posters here from the ENworld forums, and I've already posted over there about the loss of Dungeon and Dragon. I'm going to miss the magazine...
