New players needed for the Monday Night group

The Monday Night group is looking to add a couple of players. We play Monday nights (obviously) from 9 pm to 12 am EST. We use Discord for voice chat and depending on who is running that night, either Roll20, MapTools, or theater of the mind. This group has been gaming together (mostly the same peop...

Re: Rules that not in C&C. Could they be part of it?

Since C&C is based on d20 D&D, you can add that stuff in easily. It won't effect your game immensely. I do an attribute score increase at every 4 levels. It works fine.

Re: Mass Combat?

Sketching out ideas & options for our upcoming campaign and I'm thinking about having some mass combat opportunities in there for the players. Has anyone used the mass combat system outlined in the CKG? If so, how did it play? We don't want anything too complicated, just something to add a bit ...

Re: Criticals & Fumbles

I have used several Crit/Fumble systems over the years. Currently: Nat 20: max damage (with all modifiers) plus and additiona 1d6 damage Nat 1: Lose next turn I am thinking of switching to this for crits: Nat 20: roll damage dice twice, then add in any modifiers (the 5e system) Fumbles would still b...

Re: Screw it...

You could put it in the Daggerford area. R- Not bad, your game in this area was excellent. I do like the close proximity to Icewind Dale my fav FRs area. For me ~ rename Gitadel Felbarr to Botkinburg and you have A1 and A2 and more. See the Blacktooth Ridge to the right!! This map: https://i1.wp.co...

I've never played in Aihrde, although I have some of the modules. Still don't know much about it, but sounds like a fun place to adventure. Is it anything like Greyhawk?
Similar, as in "inspired by."

Re: One class and a half question and rules for 0-Level Wizards

It has no 0-level rules, but IIRC the PHB has rules for what you get from class-and-a-half casting classes at level 1 (casting class zero). I believe it's point 7 in the class-and-a-half rules. According to the PHB, a 0 level casting class gets 2 0 level spells. But I'd still allow the bonus spell ...

Re: One class and a half question and rules for 0-Level Wizards

In C&C, a 0 level wizard would only have access to bonus spells for having a high attribute. Really? Does C&C have 0 level class rules? [edit] I searched and found none in the PHB. Did you just post a house rule in answer to the question|? Sort of. I don't use either option for multiclassin...

Re: One class and a half question and rules for 0-Level Wizards

In C&C, a 0 level wizard would only have access to bonus spells for having a high attribute. Example: A fighter 1/wizard 0 with an Int of 16, would have 2 cantrips and 1 1st level spell. When the character gained fighter 2/wizard 1, it would have 4 cantrips and 3 1st level spells (2 for being 1s...

Re: So what world setting do you typically run C&C in?

I've used Dragonlance, Forgotten Realms, and Kingdoms of Kalamar for long term C&C games. I used the 4e setting (Nentir Vale) for a 5e game a ran. I liked that setting. I had a unique feel, while still being fimaliar.

I've had as little as 2 and as many as 8. My ballpark is 5-6. That's a good number.

Movement and spellcasting.

Class required Primes.

There are a few others. You can look in my House rules link to see them.

Re: New Group (pronounced "OLD") via Internet.. start up advice???

We use a virtual tabletop (Roll20 or MapTools) and Discord for our Monday night game. We don't do video, just voice. I would recommend staying away from Skype. Zoom or Google Meets should work well for a video conference call. If the pdf of the PH is still being offered for free, have your players g...

I've only seen cost for PCs for "hotel" room and meals. That kind of thing. Not for average cost of living for residents low and middle class.
Maybe that's what I was thinking.

I'm not saying you are wrong, I just disagree with you. When I read "a +2 to all charisma checks," I apply it to all charisma checks. Saving throws are just another type of attribute check. And I know from playing in a couple of different con games with Steve, that's how he does it. There ...
