Re: Kindle version of the Players Handbook

Eh, the book looks great other than 1 table out of....a lot. Those kinda things slip through, especially in a new format they are working on (which Kindle is for them, this is the second book released for an e-reader by them?). No skin off my nose, but wanted to post so they could be made aware!

Re: Kindle version of the Players Handbook

Just bought the Kindle version of M&T the other day and noticed the index issue myself. Some of the entries for magic items take you back to the first page instead of the magic item. As well, the formatting for the potions table is...off. <grins> It posts something like this: 01-15 Potion of Mig...

Re: Kindle version of the Players Handbook

Indeed. I just got a Kindle as a birthday gift, and am loving it. So having access to game books on it would be a godsend! Very looking forward to seeing those!

Re: Kindle version of the Players Handbook

How readable is it? I'm hoping to see a copy of M&T for the Kindle, but am concerned about readability. Just got the CKG in digest form, and am kicking myself for not getting hardcover, because of print size.

Re: Hit Points: Summary or 'Old School' style?

Good points all, and I'm thinking that a misreading of the intent of the rule is where that idea got stuck in my head. Not that I have ever used it, but have seen instances of it being used in 0e games. I've got too many other ideas I want to write up for a game to really think about shafting my PCs...

Hit Points: Summary or 'Old School' style?

Something I'm curious about, after recently reading some actual play threads of folks running either original set or retroclone 'old school' games (as in White Box old school), is if folks running C&C do the more modern version of hit points, where each level you roll a die and simply add it to ...

<t>Something I mentioned to the interested player, which seemed to cool his interest a bit (sure sign he was looking to fudge around the system a bit), was that when you enter a new class, the class abilities start at level 1, not your character level. So if you are a Fighter 5/Ranger 3 for example,...

<t>I plan on using some modified Weapon Mastery rules from the old Rules Cyclopedia, which at higher ranks of training will give a second attack with a weapon. Another multiclassing take (ala 3.X)

<t>Something I have been debating, is allowing folks to multiclass somewhat like 3.X allowed. Paladin Rarity

<t>Something I noticed recently (well, more something I actually thought of due to a conversation on it), was that in C&C, as in 3.X and later versions of DnD, paladins are FAR more common than in earlier editions, where the stat requirements made them quite a bit rarer.<br/> <br/> While not a p...

Incorporating "Aspects" in C&C

<t>I've been puttering around off and on with adding in a proficiencies system to C&C for my games, but every time I work on it, I end up realizing it is more crunch than I really want to include, even though I love the idea at heart, and kinda want something to give a bit of "background flavor"...

Using 3e Prestige Classes in C&C (Sorta)

<t>Back when 3e first came out, something I really liked about it was the original concept of prestige classes. That they were a sort of "add on" to your class, that gave you a few new skills and abilities, but were really meant to reflect the training and abilities from joining a specialized organi...
