<t>our local indie video store had Gamerz on the shelf last week. I picked it up and rented it and was pleasantly surprised. The accents are thick, but the story is pretty good. I also like the choice to use pen and ink drawings for the game sequences. All in all, a pretty good flick for the genre.<...

I voted for Boardgames, for they always attract me first.

In terms of what I play most often, it would be traditional card games, especially Cribbage with Mrs. Geleg. Poker works, too!

anyone have a table of contents for the last issue? I haven't taken Dragon in many years (more than 20), but am tempted to get the last one just out of loyalty to the concept. What's inside it these days?

<t>I actually thought Rowling dealt with Snape pretty well, and in ways that were not utterly cliched. The cliche would have been that Snape was really a guy with a heart of gold who was playing Voldemort so as to help Dumbledore's goals. In fact, [SPOILERS] he appears as one twisted mo-fo, whose de...

Big RoleAids sale

<r>I know a lot of this board's readers like old school stuff, and I saw this sale mentioned at ENworld (yeah, I know ...). Anyway, if you liked some of Mayfair's RoleAids line from the 80s, they are having a big sale on bundled products (like 5 or 6 demon books for $13 total; or all of the Fez adve...

Ars Magica

Talislanta

I voted Gygaxian, mostly because that's the one I know best. I know lots of folks who like the later eras (and I even respect some of them - like Omote!), but I like the earlier version - it seems more open-ended to me.

Nice points, steve. you should go for the PhD. You've got the analytical bit down cold.

We've derailed this thread long enough with epistemology.

I'm ready to return to a "300 is cool" perspective and shove the historical stuff into the background.
