Re: Dragon fire x3 a day ?
Again, this was covered in a 1980's early 90's article in Dragon Mag. :) The article recommended dragon attacks going from claw claw bite to Claw claw bite, stomp wing slap, tail slam and then double at less than 25% of their hit points left as they went berserk. Mainly because dragons were wimps ra...

Re: Counter spell ??
If I remember the S&P method right, and I am going from memory because I'm too lazy to look it up right now, the counter spell bit was similar in concept to back burns in fighting forest fires. A mage casts fireball at you, you counter with your own fireball and hope you can overpower the other ...

Re: ghosts
Only the magical bonus of the weapon does damage.. so a +3 2H sword with great str wielder behind it does 3 points of damage? That 10d8 Ghost will never be killed.. Yup. That's right. If I remember right, there was a bit article on it or it was answered in Sage Advice by Skip Williams. That is part...

Re: ghosts
Incorporeal creatures CAN be struck by magical weapons, though only the magical damage bonus applies when inflicting damage (though this varies between rules systems). The weapon itself will not do damage. Incorporeal creature attacks ignore armor counting only DEX bonus and Magical Bonus for comput...

Translated Japanese Light Novel: I'm a NEET but when I went to Hello Work I got taken to another world.
Long title but fun read. Goes into PC development, training, questing, and all that. LOT of adventure ideas to be mined from this as well as world building ideas.

Re: Counter spell ??
There were a couple methods for counter spell that popped up in the late 90's and later. My group at the time talked it over and give them a run but eventually just dropped it. Part of what we ran into with one system was that our initiative method did not work well with it, both spell casters needi...

Re: Best Player Quotes
Players are fighting a 2HD red dragon...and the half-ogre fighter gets eviscerated by a crit as he crushes the dragon (same initiative phase): Thief/Mage: "BARF! NOOOOOOOOOoooo! (hands to side of head...and then in the same breath) What's he got on him?" (meaning the fighter) Players while...

Re: NPCs Needed
My opinion is based on two things. 1) having submitted most of the posted noted NPCs outside of Domesday; and 2) having been told point blank by the Trolls not to dual post NPCs, items, classes, etc. that have already been posted in Domesday or other works, hence I am following the policy handed dow...

It's good enough that they are in the Domes Day. NPCs should be RAW based also so that anyone can use them with the basic information.

Also the base materials of the item being enchanted should make a difference as well. Steel vs Mithril vs Adamantite or Orichalcum for example.

All it took for me to not buy was realizing I could get a new book, or pay a bill. I probably won't buy anything new for quite a long while. Need to reduce my debt by a lot first. Adulting is hard. R- Dang it man! This is a family board. No using the "A" word here! :p But yeah. Keeping th...

Re: Bat Swarm
Simple way to handle a bat swarm, assuming your basic brown bat type. First figure the number of bats swarming. For every 100 bats, the swarm occupies 10' cubic feet of area. Any creature within the swarm will suffer 1 point of damage per round per HD of bat (in this case 1/4), DEX save for half dam...

Re: NPCs Needed
If you absolutely must have a system in place, I recommend 30-50% of the character's current xp max. in magic items...since most games I have ever played where Pre-Gen PCs and NPCs were used, the GM modified what the characters had before start of play to better fit their game-verse. It's not like t...

As long as the docs are under 6MB should be no issues posting them at the Society site. You want them in the Society or Knights section? Assigning proper credit is also no issue.

Re: Forums Link on Main Page
Let's keep in mind too that part of the impetus to move the focus over to the Society page is due to having more functions over all to utilize. The Trolls are also looking at the possibility of being able to run online games from there in the future though that is only a concept at the moment. The m...

Hi thanks for your reply. It’s just that it says ‘fights without penalty’ in the second part but says ‘has some difficulty’ in the first part. I can’t find any rules for mounted combat and yet it references them. Maybe I just fumbled my perception check lol. Okay...home now and after looking throug...

Re: Mounted Combat
You seem to be taking the second statement partialy out of context. There is no contradiction that I see. Riding horses are not trained for combat so they are harder to control if such an event occurs. The Knight's Horsemanship negates the penalties that would apply if another person without such sk...

For the most part yes. I use the rules as written. Only parts I don't are the EC, Undead Drain, and Illusionist healing spells...beyond my own spell, race, and class additions. The saves I have never had an issue with.

I figure I can always get it later when it actually comes out unless the KS the Trolls are promoting is something I really really want. Then I simply approach it the same way I do projects at work. Deadlines Amuse Me. It gets done when it gets done. Sure it would be nice when promised but at least I...

I used to write a special one each year for my group. The best one that had everyone having night terrors afterwards was called Chateau of Skulls. A very unpleasant descent into a cursed burial mound.
