Starting Hit Points

<t>I have seen others mention house rules that say they get full Hit Points at first level. I just wanted to throw out the house rule that I used to use in D&D (1st to 3rd ed.) that seemed to make low levels much, much more fun to play.<br/> <br/> BASIC RULE: <br/> <br/> Roll HP as normal (inclu...

slight revisions on my part

<t>The below are how I would implement these new rules. Note that you are really disadvantaging characters (versus monsters) with most of them, so they may need something to make their lives easier.<br/> <br/> 1) I agree with this one. I have always liked the idea of doing a CON check to see if you ...

Making Magic Items

<t>I just read the section in Monsters & Treasures about making magic items, and now I am thoroughly confused. Can someone please outline the magic item creation process? Specifically:<br/> <br/> 1) For making "permanent" magic items, how much XP or gold does it cost?<br/> <br/> 2) For items not...

LOL

Thank you, gentle(people) for the discussion. To me, it just goes to show that even if I don't agree with X design decision or whatever, at least CnC seems to be designed and played by people who have a clue.

Thief skills are like "powers"

<t>Here's how I personally see how to run this. This is how I used to run it in AD&D.<br/> <br/> It says in the rules for Hide: "Rogues use this ability to conceal themselves from others. A successful check means that the rogue is hidden so well as to be almost invisible. "<br/> <br/> If the rog...
