<t>I have used a simplified feat system in C&C and it's worked fine. My players liked being able to customize their PCs a bit. The way I handled it was simple. All PCs start with one feat and get one feat every three levels. There are general feats anyone can take and class specific feats. The c...

I didn't play one, but I had a player who ran a ranger/rogue in a game of mine. It seemed to work fine. We were using my multiclass house rules and not the ones in Crusader, though. I haven't read that article, so I'm not sure how they differed.

My house rules use a "streamlined" weapon list. The "medium" weapons that are normally 1H -Mace, Broadsword, and Battle Axe- offer the option of 2H wielding for +1 damage. The trade-off is no shield, of course.

I've had too many bad CN experiences from PCs. I simply don't allow the alignment in player characters. In fact, I usually make PCs be of a Good alignment. It just saves headaches later. Now, that works for the kinds of games I usually run, but it might not work for everyone. YMMV, etc.
