Alliance not carrying TLG?

I had an employee at my FLGS tell me that the reason they don't have any C&C in stock is that Alliance -and the rest of their distributors- don't carry TLG. Is this right?? It's on the Troll's website under retailers. I R confoozled.

With very few exceptions, I think the setting can handle it. Where it's left to the system, usually it's a game where the setting is deliberately integrated into the overall game. Warhammer FRP is a good example of this. WH just ain't WH without the Old World.

My hope is to use the box set as a quick & easy intro into the rules for young/new players (that may eventually move to the hard covers) as well as a rules light version that allows for quick pick-up games with a B/X feel.

I'm curious, what effect (if any) do larger shield have on the wielders? I know btb a bigger shield will provide cover from more foes, but do you include any drawback to carrying a large shield or pavis v. a buckler other than price?
