Healing in 30' or 60' radius: how could I do that in C&C?
Hi everybody, there are a couple of features from other games, namely Pathfinder and the 5th edition of Dungeons & Dragons, which I'd really like to incorporate in my C&C games and version. 1) The possibility for Clerics to heal people even at distance, with Channel Divinity, Channel Energy ...

Re: My game begins today!
In Castles & Crusades Monsters add their Hit Dice value to their Saves and their To Hit Rolls: that is their Base To Hit Bonus. So a 4HD Monster adds +4 to its To Hit Rolls.
Hope that helps and good luck for your games!

Re: My houserule site is moving
Thanks Chris, I'm thinking of printing both the last versions of the PHB and the DMG, and I'd like to have printed them both when they're finished. The PHB is done, and it's terrific, and I'm waiting also for the DMG to be completed. By the way, will there be also a Monster Manual? In any case, what...

Hi Chris, please, could you tell us when your DMG is finished? I just downloaded the most recent version of both you PHB and DMG and I really like them: I particularly appreciated the Warden and the Scout, very cool and nice additions! Now AD&D3 is really one of my two go-to games when introduci...

Re: The dwarven wizard: do you like this?
I really appreciate and like it! I'd be very interested in flavourful "racial spells": I'm all for "any race - any class" style of game, differently from the race -class restrictions of 1st and 2nd editions, so I really like this Dwarven Rune Wizard! Thanks for sharing and keep u...

Re: Heroes Against Darkness
I've seen the game (but not played it), and I like it as a good clone of "all the previous versions of D&D but particularly of the 4th". I feel the absence of a clear Skill System: however it shouldn't be too difficult to house rule it, even using D&D 4h ed. as a base. It seems to ...

1 arrow per round: is there nonetheless a penalty?
P. 257 of the Castle Keepers Guide, Table 17.5 Rate of Fire: Bow: in the first columns/row there is written that 1 arrow shot per round gets a penalty of -1. What does this mean? It means that if a character fires 1 arrow in a round, he gets in any case a -1 penalty to the to hit roll? Or does it me...

From sword to bow and viceversa: how long does it take?
Hi everybody, fellow gamers! Just a simple question: imagine a character armed with a bow: seeing the enemies closing distance she decides to take her sword and shield. According to you, how long does it take, in game terms? And how long does it take if a character armed with sword and shield wants ...

Kudos and Two Thumbs Up for Omote's Advanced Castles & Crusades!!! I LOVE all of his stuff! I use everything from his supplements (except, up to now, the Weapon Mastery, a little too power creepy and deadly for me...). That said, I have two questions about this AWESOME AND FANTASTIC STUFF: (Plea...

Knight's Battlefield Dominance
Hi guys, another doubt on another class ability: this time is Knight's Battlefield Dominance. It says: "At 8th level the Knight can use all three abilities: demoralize, embolden and inspire in the same round. This is in addition to their regular use individually " (mine the italics). What ...

Hi everybody,
pretty much what the title says: can a Barbarian attack AND use her Intimidate Special Ability in the same round (not necessarily against the same target)?
Many thanks & Cheers,
Galannor

Re: Alternate Resolution System
I'm really interested and curious about your system resolution, and I think I'll try it in my next sessions of C&C, along the usual SIEGE Engine: just a question - how do you handle skill training? How many skills can a character choose to get a training in, at the beginning of his/her own caree...

Optional Attribute Modifiers & Bonus Spells
Hi, if I choose to adopt the optional and alternative attribute modifiers from CKG, p. 10 - 11, do bonus spells for high attribute scores change accordingly? For instance, with Method 2, Table 1.3, CKG p. 11, a score of 15 gives the character a bonus of +2: does this bonus refers also to bonus start...

Re: Paladin vs Knight
Paladin, Paladin: I've always liked the spiritual flavour of the class, and its being a good healer/protector for the rest of the party (even if sometimes I've found the LG Alignment very difficult to portray and roleplay, with NPC and fellows as well :D ). However, I like both of the classes a lot:...

Re: Tracking by non rangers
Hi, I allow my players' heroes to track, even if they are not rangers, but if they are not rangers in my games they don't add their level to their tracking ckecks. If general conditions are particularly hard and harsh, a non ranger could also suffer from a higher Challenge Level. Hope that helps, Ga...

Re: Multi-classing question
Hi Tylermo, I think that it really depends on how you handle multiclassing. For instance, in the 4th printing PHB multiclassing rules you have to decide as you're creating your hero if you're going to play a single class, a multiclass, or even a class and half character: you can't gain level in diff...

Re: Questions about healing and disengagement
Hi tylermo: 1) Yes, I think that magical healing would definetely help to quickly bring back the character from the brink of unconsciousness. 2) No, if a PC, or a monster, use the fighting disengagement maneuver I usually don't allow a free attack against, but he/she/it must find a way to get free f...

Re: What's the Big Butthurt with 2E?
P.S.: One of the few things I didn't like of 2 ed. AD&D (and of 1 ed. AD&D as well) at all, was that it wasn't clear what happened (and how to handle) if or when a "non - thief" character tried to Move Silently, Hide in Shadow or use any one of the Thief Skills: I think that about ...

Re: What's the Big Butthurt with 2E?

Hi, everybody: the spells Detect Magic and Detect Evil say that the strenght of the auras detected can be lingering, faint, moderate, etc. (pp. 75 - 76 of the PHB 4th print.): how do you determine the actual strenght of these auras (I mean, if an aura is lingering, faint, moderate, etc.)? Hi everybody, do you use the rules "as written" for the spell preparing time? If so, daily spell learning can take quite a lot of time, particularly at higher levels, since it takes 15 minutes to prepare each spell; even if you want to prepare a spell, having left a slot free, during the d...

Re: Ranger, Paladin, and Bard Spells
P.S.: I think also that in the latest incarnations of the oldest rpg there is WAY TOO MUCH MAGIC!!! Almost any class can cast at least some spells, with or without preparing them, without considering the fact that you can multiclass almost at will. As always, it's just my opinion, but I think that C...

Re: Ranger, Paladin, and Bard Spells
I really like Paladins, Rangers and Bards without spells, too. I think the idea behind that was that each classes would have to be VERY ICONIC, more than in any other previous edition of D&D and similar games. So the Cleric is the hero with Divine Spells, the Druid is the guy with Spells given b...
