Re: What Games Do You ACTUALLY Play?

Jeez, I wish I actually played <sigh>. The downside = Since 2002 when I moved way out here in the woods, I've only managed to run/play a few weekends when visiting a friend near Fresno, CA. I'd DM AD&D 1e (never saw the need to go beyond that), and get to play in their AD&D 2e games. The ups...

Re: Fight Club...What Does It Mean?

y'know, I was thinking about the movie Fight Club last night after my earlier post and came to another meaning (never read the book FWIW): I think its meta-theme is all about connection . The central character (unnamed protagonist/Tyler Durden) as the movie begins has pretty much lost connection wit...

One of my players named her ranger "Dill Wobinson"...

for those who don't remember, in the old 'Lost In Space' TV series
the robot frequently would exclaim: "Danger, Will Robinson!! Danger!!"

Re: What do my players want?

Uh, I'd say that if these folks have never before played a table-top RPG, then the answer = THEY HAVE NO IDEA. Nice questionairre, but way too much information, methinks. I'd suspect you've not gotten any answers from them because you overloaded them before the starting-gate. Get 'em together all in...

Re: Player run NPCs

As long as you have players who don't try to abuse it, letting them play TWO characters works great. I've always made sure I let them know at the outset that it's up to them to role-play each character as the distinct person they are: not an adjunct of the other, not an always-helpful/agreeing frien...

If I wanted a 'fantasy accounting' game, I'd be playing D&D

Not a problem -

b) if members of the public roll on the appropriate table,

they'll get "read & write", yes? See, problem solved!!
