Re: Consider asking congress to vote "NO" on SOPA & PIPA

Asking? No - "demanding" might be a better action. The federal government has, by and large, been deaf for a long time.

Re: Dungeon Crawl Classics Poster

Mine arrived today, with only one fold - and the mail lady didn't manage to crunch it up! Looks even better in person than it does on the computer screen.

Re: Kindle Fire or Nook Tablet for Gaming?

If I read the gazillions of lines of small print (both print and virtual) on our daughter's iPad, it seems as if Apple owns the machine itself. I know that when my mother needed help from Apple's tech folk, they told her that they really owned her Mac. Makes me a little grumpy. Won't argue with you ...

Re: Kindle Fire or Nook Tablet for Gaming?

My concern with iPad - with Apple in general - is the same as my concern with PDFs from WotC. Whatever I buy from Apple, actually belongs to Apple. If they decide that I cannot play something I downloaded from iTunes (for instance) on anything other than their iTune player, then - by George, I can't...

Re: WOTC announcement today?

New or different editions of any game never fazed me, since I hardly went by the rules in any edition... I think I used... a combination of OD&D, RQ1, and make-it-up-as-I-went-along rules. Heck, if someone told me they wanted to do something outrageous which was either funny or Darned Entertaining,...

Re: At Last! You Can Sit Down Now...the Landscape Screens

Two of the youngest grandotters just watched the video with me. The 3-year old wants to know why you didn't "do magic" and make something appear out of the box.

Me, I am impressed with the strength of the screens and wanna.know if the Dr Pepper is included with them.

Re: WOTC announcement today?

Gundoggy, I have to agree. C&C allows me to create characters and "situations" over the phone or internet, because I don't have to waste ANY time explaining anything. And whether it was by design or by happy accident, the game is modular enough to permit insertion of tweaks or rules or concepts I've...

Re: WOTC announcement today?

New or different editions of any game never fazed me, since I hardly went by the rules in any edition. Started in 1976 or 1977, and didn't understand the logic of some of the rules then (AC meant the weapon didn't even touch you??) - I think I ran all the G, S, and Q-series AD&D modules, as well as ...

I took the test, but I'm not geeky enough to count up the number of questions "correct" and determine a percentile score. :( I was geeky enough to hit the button that calculated my score for me. 8-) See how inept I am in my geekiness? I have too many hobbies and can't even keep them straight. (Such...

Re: Winter Runes

I really like this new logo -- and hope that Crusader Magazine (for which we await future issues Real Soon Now) takes this sort of logo. Right now, the Crusader's logo doesn't look like the word "crusader" and wouldn't grab the eye of a potential purchaser. Assuming we can get it into more hobby sto...

Re: A quasi-stupid question: age for play

We role played before we could read..in many cases, when we could barely walk. We just called it Cowboys & Indians or some variant.
The only age requirement I've ever demanded of a player is that they must be born.

Who says players have to know the rules? My players were always welcome to try anything, and to trust me to represent reality. Many times, they didn't even know what system we were "using."

Re: Tithing for clerics and druids

Shouldn't the priest of a loving god want to convert the goblins rather than slaughter them? I a previous run of my "Banestorm" campaign a cleric character did exactly this - instead of letting the other PCs butcher the goblins he preached to them. His character eventually became the ArchPrelate of...

Re: Just how small is the print in the CKG digest?

The font in the digest is a bit small in the morning, and gets a little larger - and much more readable - by noon. About 8:30 pm, it starts to shrink again, and by 11:30 pm it's unreadable!

Re: Musketeers!

Even if it has nothing to do with the book, I know we'll have to see the new Musketeers. Have seen all the sound versions, and I even liked the 1939 version (with Ameche and the Ritz Brothers) which was actually closer to the book than the Disney version.

Re: Crusader 25?

Curiously, the PDF of Crusader 25 has nothing but pixelated blurs in place of one of the comic strips. (The top one.) Does the print version have this same problem?
