Re: Disrupting a spell
Oh I am not too sure.... CASTING TIME Most spells take one round to cast. A spell that takes one round (CT 1) to cast comes into effect during the caster’s initiative turn for that round . (pg. 74) Spells that take more than one round to cast come into effect during the caster’s initiative turn on t...

Disrupting a spell
So the rules state that spells can be disrupted by combat, being hit, making saves, etc., but specifically states "spell taking more than 1 round to cast". That accounts for 98% of the spells. The spells taking longer, are spells you would never cast in combat like summon familiar. So in o...

Re: +2 Mithril Full Plate
It's mithril and adamantium; both amazing and exceedingly rare. STACK THOSE BONUSES UP! To get a set of mithril armor is virtually impossible. When it happens, it should be quite an event for the party. Enchanted mithril you say? Even more crazy! Just don't give out sets of mithril and adamantium a...

Re: Sharp Senses (again ... )
Groovy. So, extrapolating from that, can I deduce that the dwarf's "resistant to poison" and the elf and half-elf's "spell resistance" racial abilities are also straight bonuses, and not SIEGE checks? And therefore do not need to specify "constitution" and "wisdom...

Re: +2 Mithril Full Plate
Why not Mithiril or Adamantium? Because I don't want AC's of 40+ in my games. Its bad enough when they get into the 30's. So I treat them as inherent magical bonus', and such bonus' ALWAYS max out at +5, regardless of why they have the bonus'. I am not saying I agree with it mind you, but for the s...

Re: +2 Mithril Full Plate
From the PHB: Adamantine: Adamantine is found in meteorites and in the mines of dwarves. Weapons fashioned from adamantine provide a natural +4 bonus to hit and damage. Adamantine armor provides a natural +4 to armor class. This is not considered a magical enhancement. This bonus is added to saving ...

Re: +2 Mithril Full Plate
Normally, I would not either, however, normally, I do not have mithral plate armor out there. But, this is the king after all. Talking like an engineer, steel gives a +8 for plate armor to AC. According to the book if you imbue it with magic you can give it +1 through +5. Steel does not stop incorpo...

+2 Mithril Full Plate
I am running a campaign in the Wilderlands. The party is approaching the king of Thunderhold, old Nordre Iron-Helm himself. He has (D20 Boxed set) +2 Mithril Full Plate armor. In C&C, mithral is +5 natural bonus and not magical. So if he has +2 mithral, I would think that it would be +8 for plat...

Re: Rune Lore
I've not gotten to the point where I've awarded extra runes, but in my head I plan on them being very specifically related to the content of what's going on. That is, learning a new rune should be specific to the NPC or explored environment. The odds of a pack of Kobolds just happening to have a bo...

Re: The World of Aihrde Kickstarter has launched!
Well, I told myself I was not going to do it. But I accidentally opened the kickstarter and saw all the new Aihrdian goodness. I called Steve to complain about being sucked in yet again. He did nothing to stop me. So I handed in my credit card number with a big smile on my face. It looks like an Aih...

Rune Lore
It does not seem like a lot of posters here use the Rune Lore, but maybe someone else dos and has some ideas or knows the original intent of the Troll Lords. A Rune Mark gets so many mastered runes per level from the toe they begin with "Runes of the Initiate". How do they gain more that j...

Re: CKG Containers, Capacity, and EV
Yeah, I thought I would lobby again, just to make sure it was not missed. And while we are here, there is a problem with one of the advantages as well. If you are a cleric and take Blessed Healer (allows you to change any spell for a healing spell or equal or lesser level, but you lose the ability t...

CKG Containers, Capacity, and EV
Ok, I know the CKG is getting close to ready for the lay-out/printer. Please, for the love of the game, fix the container -- capacity -- EV on things like carts and chests!! The original CKG has some crazy - wonky stuff. I cannot recall exactly but wheel-barrow carries 20gp and a buggy carried 3gp a...

Re: Poison
This is one of those things that should have been more codified in my opinion. I know, it is C&C but this one can be really crazy. I use the HD for monster poisons; like spiders, snakes and any other poisonous creature. That is easy. But the type I-V poisons are not that easy. You could have a v...

Re: M&T Missing Portions of Tables
Well, a lot of us looked at those tables before the M&T went to print. I think without actually trying to generate treasure with them, it's easy to miss. As for why something changed, I guess it had to do with other improvements to the process or the layout and just got missed. Yeah, I'm not co...

I'm starting to think the Trolls intentionally input errors so that their overly anal fans will be compelled to buy yet another printing that addresses all the errata. Re: M&T Missing Portions of Tables
Traveller changed/fixed the treasure generation tables in 6th printing. They are different from the last printing intentionally. Re: M&T Missing Portions of Tables
I would be bothered if I purchased a product and portions are missing, especially when such is said to be important and "critical" to use. I have not actually looked at a M&T for quite some time, so no idea if the latest is thus affected universally. But... I am sure you could ask the...

Re: M&T Missing Portions of Tables
For table 4.4B, you can't determine the values until you've rolled on both tables 4.4A & 4.4B. For table 4.4D, the note at the bottom specifies that the values are based on the level of "pluses" the item has. Basically, I don't think either of these tables should have those values and...
