Re: Returning Home

I wish I could afford those leather editions...they look great. Btw, I didn’t want to come across as being a grouch before. I love the game and don’t want to sound too negative etc :) I’d say welcome back to Snoring Rock but I’m kind of new so it didn’t sound right lol. I used to be on the forum bu...

Be at Gamehole Con next November. I will run games again! I was supposed to be at GameHole this year, but had to change plans fairly last minute for another trip. I will endeavor to be at GameHole next year boss. ~O It will be epic my friend! Dude.....may blow your mind by trapping a trapdoor again.

Re: Returning Home

Is this not a job for the knights of the crusade? Been there. Done that. I've retired from TLG's editing gig for the reasons mentioned throughout this thread. The most recent 7th printing PHB in the leather format is the best, most premium version we are going to get. So I will probably also retire...

Re: Gamehole Con

So we were in a long house in a small village when a war party of hobgoblins attacked. We ran outside and the hobs were running over the top of the roof and jumping down to take positions. Steve had hobs running through burning walls of fire, around corners over fences.... It was lively and full of ...

Re: Rune Lore

I see that Rune Lore is on the daily deal on Drive Thru RPG today for $6. Had there been a sencond printing of this product or are the errata issues still there? No new printing of Rune Lore. In fact, it is being discontinued. The class will go in the adventurer's backpack and the adventures will g...

Returning Home

At GenCon 2015 I tried a few D&D 5e games and enjoyed them quite a bit. At home I was still running C&C games and had gone “all in” with the 3-Sisters and the Aihrde KS’s. Those who were part of the KS will recall that this KS was shipped in pieces and took a while to be fulfilled. TLG also had some...

[quote="DMMike"]Its not just the gaming community. Re: Empyrea for C&C

There will be no KS. Frank funded it the old-fashioned way. Not sure how he picked up $250K in 30 days. The theory now is that he scaled it back. Odd thing is, he announced this on a forum instead of on his KS site. It seems fishy to some, and fishy to me. The sexual harassment epidemic is spreading...

Re: Mythical Companions vs. Book of Familiars?

I wondered the same thing so I asked Tim. Here is his response: Assuming you mean the C&C Mystical Companions, the Mystical Companions book is a revised, cleaned-up edition of the original Book of Familiars. It doesn't have any changes; the layout is cleaned up, it's in color, and all of the d20 3.x...

Rune Lore spells need to be defined better. As-is (RAW) they are over-powered. I think splitting them up is a good idea.

Gamehole Con

Over the last year, I have been playing D&D 5e, which is a great game. I attended Gamehole Con this past weekend and I had a blast. The highlight of the con was playing in Stephen's game Friday night. Originally, I was scheduled for Frank Mentzer's game but he cancelled last minute. I switched to th...

Re: Empyrea for C&C

What gets me is that the part Jessica Price is most bent up about, is the part no one seems to be able to show a screen shot of. On the other hand, Frank said some pretty straight up crap stuff at DF. Yes, that group is side-ways but he did not have to sink to their level himself. Miss Price is also...

Re: Empyrea for C&C

The fact that Mentzer used his (imagined) weight in the industry to threaten to blackball people is pretty disturbing. I'm tempted to think this is some form of dementia or other condition since it seems out of character. Also, if Tenkar is to be believed (and I do), lawyers are now involved in an ...

Yeah so, I am not judging future purchases based this. I will not throw out my ToEE book. I am however, judging whether or not to trust the man at his word when buying tickets to an event he is running. Re: Empyrea for C&C

Well, I have read all of it on every forum and Frank did kind of threaten someone at Dragon's Foot and dared them to ban him. So they did. The sexual harassment thing was kind of bated but he did not know when to drop it. His opening lines were in fact creepy flirtations. It just went downhill for t...

Re: GenCon vs. Other Cons, specifically Game Hole Con

True that, about rusted panties and all. GenCon is the place where no one is left out or pushed away. Geek culture is "in" at GenCon, whether you be old school, new school, power-gamer, anime or confused by it all. I think there is a little too much "in your face" though. Some of it needs to stay "i...

As stated in the post you quoted and restated above, I do not find how poorly everyone else does something a very good excuse. It's not an excuse, but a simple fact. The Trolls do the best they can with the resources available to them, but the impression I'm getting is that it isn't enough. To your...

They have to start getting better. -The Dictionary is running late (from January to November now). -Three Sisters is just finishing so there may be a package coming this week. -The enthusiasm for Victorious has faded. Re: Kickstarters

@LD; With Rune Lore, there are schools of runes that are mentioned but do not appear in the book. Why list them if they do not exist? I think, based on how it is worded, that the trolls meant to include them but ran out of space in the book or just forgot to add them. Heavy, careful editing would ha...

Re: Kickstarters

Well, that brings up another frustration I have. I have gone all in on KS's. They cost $50-$100. Then the print run happens and the books sell for $39.99 but then 1 month later I see them on sale for $29.99 or even $19.99. I feel kind of taken advantage of at that point. I feel your pain. What I ha...

Re: Easier to use C&C or 5E with D&D 1E

I play a lot of 5e these days. I would agree and disagree. 1e to 5e just using the 5e monsters as they are out of the MM works great. You can convert on the fly easy-peasy. Treasure in 1e could be scaled back a bit. From C&C you can use them as they are but change AC and HD to match C&C power level ...
