Re: Weapon Bonuses inconsistent
Mike, first, thanks for responding. Don’t get me wrong, I love your supplement and that is why I picked it up at GenCon. It also explains why it is rather dog-eared. I use it religiously! And to that point, you are correct; the guide is for a specific time period. What is in the PHB however, should ...

Re: Weapon Bonuses inconsistent
I'd rather they simply just made a list of weapons, something like 60 total, with weights, EV, and damage. Some pictures would be helpful, but all the "other details" should be ignored within the PHB... that's what "sourcebooks" are for. Or, call them "expansions." Or ...

Weapon Bonuses inconsistent
Here is my big complaint of the day... Ok, I like rules light. That is what pulled me into C&C. I do not like "missing" rules however. Look at the list of weapons in PHB pg. 44. The Bec De Corbin receives a +2 vs. chain, plate and scale armors. But the Lucerne Hammer does not. This is ...

Ok, I am thinking of getting Kalas the city suppliment. If anyone has it already, do you think it would make a good stand in for this? Or would Loona from Kingdom of Kalamar be better? 1309 ANTIL (Large Town): Conventional; AL N; TL 4; 3,000 gp limit; Assets 439,500gp; Population 4,688 (Able bodied ...

Re: Just got Classic Monsters
Sorry, did not intend to hijack the thread. I do not see any original Wilderlands (JG) stuff in there. Darn. Anyway, the Classic Monsters is a MUST HAVE in you monster library. Nice book, great ilustrations, well done mechanically. Got mine at GenCon this year.

Re: Just got Classic Monsters
Ooh, oh.....does the M&T of the Wilderlands contain monsters from the original setting like the winged apes? Or is it Wilderlands of high Adventure material? I would love to have the orginal stuff converted to C&C. If so, I will download it post haste!

Ok, so I am in the middle of choosing between a Kindle Fire HD or and iPad. I am told that getting PDF's on a Kindle takes some kind of conversion and an app. Anyone know just how much trouble that is? I have purchased to many things, being told they work, later to find out...not so much. Do you rea...

D'oh! I missed that in the CKG! Ok, I like that source a lot. That makes sense and I like your addition thoughts on it as well. I need to check the range, maybe that will, explain the price some what.

Re: Reload time for crossbows?
Uh....so I have never seen the 1/2 (light---1/3 (heavy) rule anywhere. Where did that come from? I know AD&D was 1/2 for heavy. That brings up more questions, like, since they were historically used by untrained soldiers, they were simpler to use than a bow. Shouldnt they have a bonus to hit of ...

Re: More conversion on a deeper level
Good thinking. I love the different takes on this. I may do a bit of both. The city is well over 5000 years old and sits over an ancient dwarven city, which sits on top of ancient dragon-worshipping empire ruins. Then wiping anything out that just does not belong, makes sense.

More conversion on a deeper level
Ok, so here is an interesting dilemma. We all like converting AD&D, Pathfinder, 3.x adventures and setting since there is such a plethora of goodies out there. You may get the CR and HD converted and even go as far as converting spells or at least changing them to what is RAW in C&C, but you...

Re: Using 3e Spells in C&C
I dusted off my old 3.x and Pathfinder books last night, and looked up the spells in question. I compared C&C spells on a case by case, side by side level. Then I looked at the spells I was considering and looked at the damage, affects, range, you name it. I am now of the opinion that you cannot...

Re: Using 3e Spells in C&C
So, I have this adventure written in 3e; and the lich has spels that for the most part are the same level and name/effect as C&C. There are a few however, like "extended cloudkill" and "flaming sphere" that are not in the list in C&C. There is also "baleful polymorph...

Using 3e Spells in C&C
Ok, I figure I can get lots of views on this one. Does anyone use 3e spells in C&C? If so how do you convert them? Is it balanced? How do you do it in your game? Any guidance would be great.

Town of Kalas
So, I have this campaign set in the Wilderlands and as most of you know, very few cities were ever completed. So I have taken to filling in with my own or using published cities.
Can anyone tell me what they thing of the The Town of Kalas? I am thinking of getting it.

Ok, so on the same vein, the same should be fair for the druid right? Te druid should also be able to swap out spells. But should he be able to swap for healoing or for plant spells, or animal friendship?

Re: What's a quick Fighter patch?
Good suggestion. Combat dominance is dependent upon the GM and what they may throw at the fighter. The Cleave Feat or the Cleave Advantage in the CKG would fill that gap.
I allow CKG advantage for those specifice classes/races.

Re: Of clerics and wizards
Well put Sir Capatain Blood! I agree. I think the role playng opportunities in the game get lost if you give that kind of power away. Realistically, letting the cleric swap out the spell does not kill a game or throw the balance off. But I prefer playing it like it is written. I expect clerics in my...

Re: What's a quick Fighter patch?
I dont know; maybe I have not had enough fighters at my table since having switched from Pathfinder to C&C. We have not needed any power-ups for the fighter. Weapon specialization and the advantages out of the CKG makes for a great class. I only allow fighter advantages to fighters. That may be ...

Oh I agree! So, have you ever used the critical hit cards that Paizo makes? They have random damages and specific injuries on them. I was thinkig of trying them out as an element of realism and chance on wounds and other types of damage in my game.

Re: Conversion to C&C
As usual Duke Omote you are correct. Thank you sir! It is funny how little attribute scores are attacked in C&C. It certainly is set up to be done though. It says in the book that it takes a day to heal temporary damage. Does that mean one point per day or all of it the next day? Or is that up f...

Conversion to C&C
Ok, so I am converting some Wilderlands specific creatures from D20/3e to C&C. I have this will-o-wisp type undead creature that does damage to constitution at a rate of one point per hit. I can live with that, but C&C does not have much ability drain type stuff in it. I assume you gain thos...
