Re: New Advantage Idea
Also expanded up on Mobile Caster just a bit.... Mobile Caster Prerequisite: Ability to case 3rd level spells Benefit: You may move five feet before casting a spell. If you decide to move more than 5, you may move up to ½ your move value, but must make a concentration check at the end or not be able...

Re: New Advantage Idea
I think both of those are nice enough, if a bit power creepy. Which, if you're cool with power creep, I might suggest something like the following. It will make your rogues more versatile, their damage output less swingy and won't keep piling on effects to an ability that is already somewhat mechan...

Re: New Advantage Idea
Thanks for the replies Mbeacom. I will definately take those into consideration. Let me share another tweak I'm playing around with. I use advantages that basically grant a +1 to saves useing ( fill in the attribute...str, dex, wis, whatever ). But no one takes 'em. I asked the group and they flat o...

Re: New Advantage Idea
Oh, and while I'm on the topic of new Advantages, I have one in my game called "Stealthy". It grants a +1 to all hide and move silents checks. Is +1 a decent enough bonus for this type of advantage? I know how much 1 point can have an effect on the game, so I'm hesitant to change that to +...

New Advantage Idea
I've got a couple of ideas for new Advantages to add to my game. Just trying to add a little more variety to the list. How do these sound to you... Cutthroat Prerequisite: Back Stab, Base Attack +2 Benefit: Your Backstab attacks cause an additional 1d4 damage Normal: Backstab grants a flat multiplie...

Re: Pair of Magic Daggers
Whether or not they are "too powerful" will depend on who gets to use them. If it's a high dex rogue looking for a reason to TWF, then yeah, they may seem too powerful since they're essentially a custom item. If they're used by a PC who normally carries a shield, which he'll have to drop ...

Re: Rogues and Double Damage (triple, quad, etc)
Now would you allow a rogue to use two weapons at the same time for the back attack ... Not a chance. Hmmm...if you are using all the penalties as normal for two-weapon combat, why not? A rogues back attack bonus is for a very carefully aimed attack. Once you 1st hit someone, he/she/it is going to ...

Re: Pair of Magic Daggers
Hmmm...was just looking at the dual wield description and it says... The attack with the primary hand is at -3 and the attack with the off hand is at -6. These penalties are affected by the character’s dexterity modifier. The character’s strength modifier only applies to damage inflicted. So, you do...

Re: Pair of Magic Dagger
Those would be coveted daggers indeed. Here is something I have learned about this game, Lobo. We worry a lot about throwing down stuff that is "too powerful" but in actuality c&c is a pretty hard game. If you throw a monster at your pc's that is of the same hd (assuming hd is a good ...

Pair of Magic Daggers
So I'm trying to think up a "unique" magic item for my game, and what I'm working on is a pair of enchanted daggers. So far, I have them being +1 daggers, but when they are dual wielded, they become +2 daggers. Additionally, when weilded together, a successful hit by one, allows an immedia...

Re: Rogues and Double Damage (triple, quad, etc)
Yea, that's a sticky topic. I think I may actually adopt what snoring rock has... I give them maximum damage, including any kind of weapon and strength bonus, and then allow the player to roll the damage die and add that. So if it was a +2 dagger and they had a strength bonus of +1, the damage woul...

I'm assuming everyone here adds any bonus for strength AFTER doubling? I do. Hmmm...while were on the subject, do you add magic bonuses AFTER doubling (tripling, etc) as well? In 3.X I added before. But, in C&C I add them after due to the overall lower power level of the game. So the formula I ...

Re: Rogues and Double Damage (triple, quad, etc)
OK, thinking on this some more, I don't think I've really considered how we do backstab damage when it comes to bonuses. Example...There is a rogue in the party with a +1 dagger (giants bane, +3 vs giants). To break down his maximum damage, see the following... (not including strength, which would b...

Re: Rogues and Double Damage (triple, quad, etc)
You know, I may put it to a vote and see what the players like. I'm good either way. I think the "more dice" method may actually work more in thier favor. I mean, you roll low on a "x2" and you're doing "low" overall damage. With more dice, more chance of the average co...

Yea, I was looking at that table actually. We had a player last game get a +2 amulet of health, but since his CON was 13, it didn't help him at all. Got me thinking about using a different table to allow for a little more flexibility in ranger. Isn't the other table (gain, don't have my CKG) but is...

Rogues and Double Damage (triple, quad, etc)
When the Rogue description states the damage on the back attack is "doubled" are you supposed to roll the damage twice? Or do you double the result of a single dice? Same question when you get to triple and quead, etc. Do you roll one die and multiple it X 2, 3 or 4....or do you roll that ...
