Re: Palladium alignment
I decided not to use the standard Palladium alignments for my revamp of Robotech but instead the Revised Recon alignments (which I think Eric Wujick created). These work better, in my opinion, for the military setting.

Re: What gaming stuff are you reading?
Decided to whip up a Robotech II: The Sentinels game at my local FLGS (assuming I can find players...if not...maybe Skype). So, in an effort to make sense out of the jigsaw puzzle that has become the 2nd Edition Robotech RPG , I'm going through and combining aspects of both editions (with alignments...

Re: Grima Wormtongue
Hmmm...went back and looked at the entry on Wormtongue in the old Lord of the Rings RPG: Two Towers Sourcebook just to see how Decipher's writer's viewed him: Magician, Noble (total of 3 advancements). He only has 3 spells, but they are whoppers: Command (no gestures), Voice of Command (no gestures)...

Re: Spooky Holiday Modules
Or run something in Middle-earth without clerics. Lots of barrow wights, nazgul, and so on... There was an old Tales of Middle-Earth Campaign module (for Decipher's The Lord of the Rings RPG ) called A Rescue on the Barrow-Downs where you have to rescue the hobbit Wheldon Proudfoot on a stormy nigh...

Although its not an official C&C class, I would add Noble (like that in Blackmoor or DragonLance 3.x) to Assassin (he is basically a Spy).

Congrats again man! Thanks, again. Though, I wish Pally would have used more artwork from your GCM collection. Yea, I'm none too happy that alot of stuff from MOSPEADA got left out, again! Missing was Colonel Wolfe's fighter ( Eulogy & Enter Marlene ), Wolfe's body armor ( Eulogy ) and at...

Re: Special Thanks mention in the latest Robotech RPG source
Well, got another Special Thanks credit for Palladium's Robotech: The New Generation Sourcebook (they even got my name spelled correctly this time) since I loaned them a great deal of my Genesis Climber MOSPEADA artwork collection. Guess I've about used up my 15 Minutes of Fame.

Re: Qs about grappling & overbearing (errata?)
Personally, I make the AC the same as in melee combat since (to me at least) there is no fundamental difference between whacking someone with a sword and moving in and grabbing them by their short hairs, except that you (the grappler) are sacrificing the advantage of keeping out of knife-fighting ra...

Re: Oriental Adventures: Naga Steel Bow
Heeeyyyy, that just got me thinking... Castles & Crusades Oriental Adventures book? I'd hit that! I definitely would too. I'm personally going with this lineup since I think it pretty well gives the players enough options for adventure. I'm also in the process of hunting down AD&D/d20 compa...

Oriental Adventures: Naga Steel Bow
Okay, some of you saw my thread about the fact I'm planning an Oriental Adventures campaign. I've got alot of resources I'm calling upon so now its filling in the cracks and such. One thing I think that could potentially be added to my game is the Gupta Steel Bow (yes, it was a real weapon used by t...

Secondary Attributes: Luck & Appearance
Okay, been thinking about doing an Oriental Adventures themed campaign (watching Avatar: The Last Airbender for the first time). As such, I thought bringing back Comeliness (after a fashion) would be good as well as adding a Luck attribute. Thing is I don't think they should be tied to any Saving Th...

Re: Do you guys have race/class restrictions in your games?
See, that's why I have the Brawler class instead of Monks for base C&C (moving them instead to C&C Oriental Adventures). Basically, the Cestus Gladiators of Rome were the idea.Traveller wrote:monks don't fit in at all with the gestalt game world implied by the rules, which is distinctly eurocentric

Re: Do you guys have race/class restrictions in your games?
Yes I do, but I mitigate this by having more classes: Priest, Crusader, Healer, Shaman, Gladiator, Beast Master, Merchant, Bandit, Loremaster, Gypsy and so on and so forth. As well, I offer expanded race selections: Draconians, Dracons, Centaurs, Half-Ogres, Half-Giants, Half-Dwarfs, Pixie-Fairies, ...

Re: 3D6 rather than d20
Okay, after reading that d20 SRD on 3d6, I think I'm sold. As some of you remember, I hope, I was planning on using 2d6 instead of d20. The biggest hurdle would be making sure I don't have to recalculate everything. This was what I came up for as Bonus to Hit for the various classes: Fighting Men: +...

Re: Hit points and Con Bonus
If I were gonna do that, Keolander, I'd make criticals go straight to HP... scare the bejeezus out of players when you throw a 20. Yep, that's what I do. It favours the melee classes and makes the power curve slightly shallow since you could proverbially drop a 12th lvl Wizard as a 1st lvl Fighter....

Re: Question about the Druid's totem shape ability
How about as an Adjunct to the Totem Shape Ability, the Druid picks One (and only One) Totem Animal, but can shift at will. For those that play WoW, yea, I'm using that idea: Druids of the Fang: Serpents Druids of the Talon: Avians Druids of the Claw: Bears Druids of the Pack: Wolves Druids of the H...

Re: Hit points and Con Bonus
I suppose I'm weird, but I separate Hit Points (which is a PCs Constitution Score) from Wound Points (Hit Dice + Con Bonus). Sure, it means overall that players have a bigger base of points, but I think there are plenty of ways in which PCs go *SQUISH* that don't involve anything other than a Saving...

Interesting. I sort of like it as a non-spell casting adjunct to the DragonLance Kender Nightstalker class.
