Re: Writing up a new power...

Incence or a similar substance could work for air; perhaps in a perfume bottle. Fire could be sulfur (Brimstone); certainly a stand-in for fire. I'll need to think on that before giving my (unofficial) opinion. On the one hand a specific substance rather than just the nearby equivalen is a greater l...

(Normal explanation of its your game and what I say isn't official spiel) Hmm. That might work as a theme "Elementalist" Since its rock s/he are looking at first, I'd go with Theme "Elemental Merging" 1 Armor (only useable when touching substance) +1 rank limit 2 Attribute to STR...

Who do I talk to about getting the errata thread in the Victorious forum as a sticky? I went looking through the list of admins and the latest one of them signed on was 2015?

Mike, wondering where all the admins have gone...?

My gut reaction is no, since this is a (theoretically) updating list. It'd be hard to regularly update via blog-post?

Re: Victorious Errata 2017

Here's one that came up at tonight's game. * Totalling power slots for xp chart advancement is set at character generation. Purchase of new powers when a character goes up in skill level do NOT add to the xp requirements; they are considered part of the level advancement. Once those initial powers a...

I'm HOPINg we can finally get to Castles & Crusades for episode 7!

Re: Anyone using milestones instead of xp for C&C?

Frankly I do that in Victorious in my home game. I look at the PC's xp charts and just wing it from there. High xp characters might only level half as much as the lower xp characters. Since you're eyeballing it, it doesn't have to be exactly "balanced" (God I hate that word!) so long as th...

Re: Doctor Who fans...

<shrug> We'll just have to agree to disagree. Like I inferred in my first post, "Doctor Who Canon" is kinda like "Star Trek Canon" in that there's so much out there that's frankly contradictory you can make an argument for most anything. In my view, the past shows have portrayed ...

Re: Doctor Who fans...

According to prior "Doctor Who"-ness, The doctor regenerates when he's near death to a new body. While its been stated he can turn into potential aliens, he's always turned into a human looking man. Most Time Lords (his race) appear as human; no aliens. BTW, this is to explain when DW gets...

Re: Doctor Who fans...

Argh. That's all I gotta say. OK, maybe not. If they wanted the Doctor to be a woman, why not have the "doctor" apparently die and his clone Genny decide to honor him and take over as the Doctor? Or Susan? Romana? Though I know the perils of arguing DW canon, this just doesn't make sense. ...

Hey Lurker, To your q’s: 1. In baseline Victorious (ie Gilded/Neutral Chronicle) damage is automatically subdual. If you want killing damage you have to specifically state that. Sort of the reverse of C&C where all damage is killing and you have to specifically state subdual. IMC, all firearms d...

With a successful Wisdom check (adding the appropriate Wisdom bonus and class level to the roll), it allows the Hero to ...

Re: Martial artist 'super powers'

Hm. Interesting, and something I'll need to chew on a bit. Two things come to mind though: 1. Don't forget the skill Target. This basically allows one attack to ignore armor or many other defenses. I was specifically thinking of the martial strike for this one. 2. Suppression: You could suppress an ...

Same here, though I sometimes use a d10. Weaker Chaotic monsters are more likely to run to save their skins while Lawfuls are more likely to stick it out.

Yeah, good job! I too felt that Ravenloft just didn't 'get it.' ;) Regarding the later morality of the Victorian era, some of that was imposed by Queen Victoria. Her uncles George III and George IV were notorious rakes (the former with bouts of madness) and after George IV's death there was real tal...
