Re: Monday Night Kingdoms of Kalamar Game

Not many plot hooks in Sarosious' history, but I'd still like to find out the history of the Giant Slayer. Maybe something there? I'd also be interested in a waterborne adventure.

Re: Monday Night Kingdoms of Kalamar Game

What a crazy battle. I thought I had you guys for a few minutes, but you were able to pull it off. Now to scheme.. er, plan for the next thing. R- I was sure you had us... that fighter's 2 attacks for every one of Sarosious' made a huge difference. He did a ton of damage. Looking back over my sheet...

Re: What gaming stuff are you reading?

The Goodman Games reprint of Judges Guild stuff, the Collection Volume I. The coffee table book is massive -- literally coffee table. Mostly got it to have real play copies. This looks great. Unfortunately I never played any of the old JG stuff when it came out. I bought Tegel Manor a few months ag...

Yay! For C&C! Now if by some chance they get to 18 grand, I will back it too. I am far more interested in the new Of Gods and Monsters and Tome of the Unclean.
That's what I'm looking for as well. They'll need a huge push to get there though.

Re: Save Question

Just seems like he has an axe to grind. Whatever, that's his business, but if he wanted a game that played like 1E, he should've just played 1E. I liked it, but the game we played was always house ruled (no weapon speed factors, weapons vs armor types). Its been a long time since I've played it, but...

Re: The sandbox and the meta-plot

I think a pure Sandbox has got to be a nightmare for the DM. Too many things are left to the whim of the players and the DM has to come up with a plethora of scenarios, or think really quick on his feet. I prefer the campaign to have an underlying theme and structure to the world, with the players l...

Re: Save Question

Yea, somehow that guy inevitably shows up to knock C&C when a discussion is posted. It's his opinion, which is fine. What I don't agree with is his implication that whatever game he is playing is BTB. I kinda doubt that. Like every D&D game I've played in, C&C is likely to be house ruled...

Re: Monday Night Kingdoms of Kalamar Game

I too like going on a raid. Sarosious should operate well in this scenario. I'd also go for 1 on 1 combat with their champion. I have +7 damage to every hit as a combat marauder, which could be significant. The question is whether or not a AC of 21 is good enough to fend off enough blows. I agree th...

Good luck with it! I worked from home all of 2016. It was great; got to see the wife and kids a ton more than when I used to commute and/or travel. Also, you'll have some discretionary time to keep looking for something else if things aren't moving in the right direction.

What lectures are you listening to, are these classes or just doing on your own? I've always had an interest in the Eurasian steppe nomads as well, and how their migrations affected the Byzantines.

I agree with Penny. My wife is currently playing a Druid (just made 3rd level) and struggles to contribute in a dungeon-like setting. Outdoors is a different deal, but still tough at this level. Given a few more levels things will turn around though.

Thought I might have needed this last weekend. The party was up against a troll, but didn't have the space to toss a fireball without lighting up the whole party. I was going to wing it but they killed it another way. I like the 1d8 damage along with burning for 1d4 rounds.

Reading up on UK1, The Sentinel. Its next up for the group. The Gauntlet and Sentinel are among my all time favorites.. I don't remember these coming out in the 80's.
