Re: (March 5th) Up for an old school 1st-3rd print game toni

I've never used Roll d20 before. Does it handle the audio as well, or do we use skype like in our other game? I'm in there now playing around with it. We just use Skype as usual and keep Roll20 for dice rolls, maps and stuff. It's quite simple actually and you shouldn't haven't any difficulty with ...

What time is the game? Hey maximus, you are more than welcome to join us, we do usually start around 9 Eastern/ 7 Mountain and sometimes play well after midnight, depending on the circumstances and the players' schedules. Thanks! I'm going to try and get it together, but my in-laws may still be ove...

Re: The impossibility of dragons.

I always thought 1E dragons were ridiculously weak. 5-7 HD for White Dragons? My view is there is no way a massively strong and powerful creature like a dragon would ever be a pet, like the Frost and Fire Giants had them in the G1-G3 series. Most CJs I've read on various sites have both the White &...

Even in your upcoming Ravenloft campaign? ;)
Depends on the spell. For an example, I would allow Invisibility to work on a vampire.
This is how I play it as well

Re: Which books do you use when you're gaming?

6th edition PHB when playing. 6th edition Flipbook when running my Sunday game. I also have Classic Monsters handy when DM'ing. A lot of the monsters in the series I'm currently running came from the original Fiend Folio.

Re: So Steve sucks at promoting TLG ...

Stop sucking at promotion. ;) R- LOL! Sucking less is always good advice. Seriously, I don't know what their production model or profit goals are, but the product is great. My guess is that word of mouth and presence at conventions give them their most visibility. Probably having links to the websi...

Only a few chapters in so far, but I like it. I've always been a big history buff, and after a suggestion from someone over at DF, this looked like a good one. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Copper Dragon. They're good, but never seemed "too good". The witty (ie: smart ass) sense of humor is something I can appreciate. I also like the combo of acid & slow breath weapons.

Thanks guys. I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the older version. I've checked out the Goodman site several times recently, but they've been sold out every time. I'm looking forward to this one, as I'm not very familiar with JG stuff.

Re: What WRITER has most influenced your game world?

I'd have to say Tolkien, because reading the Hobbit in the late '70s got me interested in the genre. My Goblins and Elves take on a more Tolkeinesque flavor than the standard. As far as what author I like the best, I'd say Moorcock. I agree with Willy too. Although I've only read his stuff over the ...

Worth it? I have a chance to pick up a copy for what looks like a good price. I've never played it, and remarkably never heard of it until I saw a few mentions of it on the board here.

Re: Castles & Crusades What's Next

What C&C needs, really, really needs, is something NEW. Something that adds to the game. Now the Players Guide to Aihrde does that with racial classes, but I want even more than that. So there are three projects that we are looking at for Castles & Crusades. 1) Tome of the Unclean. I want t...

Re: Monday Night Kingdoms of Kalamar Game

When I gave exp at the end of last night's session, some people leveled up and others did too, although they didn't seem to realize it (Maximus and Lurker). But that brought up an apparent issue with my multi-class house rules. The multi-classed characters save/SIEGE check level bonus is equal to o...

I treat it like my magic arrows. Its a permanent enchantment until it's duration ends or the item is destroyed. If the enchantment ends with a strike, then hit or miss, does the stone know it hit the target, bounced off the shield or bounce on the hard ground... if the arrow is permanent with no du...
