Depends on the spell. For an example, I would allow Invisibility to work on a vampire.

This is how I play it as well

6th edition PHB when playing. 6th edition Flipbook when running my Sunday game. I also have Classic Monsters handy when DM'ing. A lot of the monsters in the series I'm currently running came from the original Fiend Folio.

Copper Dragon. They're good, but never seemed "too good". The witty (ie: smart ass) sense of humor is something I can appreciate. I also like the combo of acid & slow breath weapons.
