Nope. But I could write a similar set of game rules. This. Or, I would try to recreate Tunnels & Trolls because solo play and I'M STRANDED ON A FLIPPING ISLAND HERE. I did say there'd be willing players. Though maybe they are all asking for Synnibarr instead. Could you still write an RPG if Rav...

Re: Serious Adventurers

I read Tolkien as a kid. I think having done that turned me off to super serious, world-hanging-in-the-balance fantasy, because I felt that I had already seen it. Sounds dumb, I know, but that's the effect it had on me. So, after that, I gravitated towards adventures that were either more existentia...

Good call on Ghostbusters and Paranoia serleran. I wholeheartedly agree! Same. I dig Ghostbusters from a historical perspective. Early the d6 system and all that. In a similar vein, maybe Pacesetter's Action Table system might be worth looking at. Not just Chill, but Star Ace and Timemaster as well...

Okay, lemme make one change to my list. I didn't understand the decidedly old-school thrust of your podcast. My new list is the same, except with Justifiers instead of STOCSlite.

Here is a fun and free tool you can use to generate full color pictures of your very own superhero! I find it useful for generating character portraits.

Re: Golden Heroes/Squadron UK - gauging interest...

Ah, the joy of random power generation. ;) I'll probably start making a character after NTXRPGC in early June. I'm committed (or should be!) to running Victorious at the con, so most of my efforts will be preping for that game. Oh, and the podcast. :) Mike You may notice that there is no number 49 ...

Re: Golden Heroes/Squadron UK - gauging interest...

Combat is starting to make sense now. Or, I should say that I am starting to understand how it works. It is definitely intended to mimic comic book action, so saying that it "makes sense" may not be entirely accurate. 13-point checklist for each combat round, jeez. Initiative at the start ...

GatewayTodd's list is aces, I would love to hear reviews of any of those. I almost added James Bond 007 to my list. Also, this: I love reading or hearing well thought reviews of pop culture items. Why do we discuss literature, film or any art form? This kind of conversation can be simply about evalu...

Re: [Save for Half Podcast] What's YOUR Top 5?

Huh...I could've sworn I saw that earlier. Maybe I'm thinking of another game. I must have, since I only went to very local ETX cons in the late 1980s. <shrug> Of course, Traveller already have wolflike and catlike aliens (Vargr and Aslan) but the slave aspect is interesting. Though I know a lot of...

Love Blade Runner. It makes a lot more sense if you read the source material, as there are a lot of seemingly offhanded comments in the movie that are given context in the book. Veeeerrrrrrrryyyyyyy skeptical of the new movie. But, I liked Tron: Legacy, so maybe there's hope for this one as well. N...

The only one I have much experience with was Marvel Super Heroes. I had a lot of fun with that back in the 80s. I've never understood the allure of Star Wars RPGs. Yeah but Albedo is more anthropomorphic animals than actual little critters, so it may or may not offer the same perspective as Mouse Guard/ Harvesters/Bunnies & Burrows.
