Re: Gringnr's Sunday Night Spacejacking
Upon perusal, SWN seems to be a retro clone of OD&D mixed with Traveller. Kind of like Star Siege or White Star but with Traveller-like skills, at least at first glance. Not my preferred space system, but I'm easy, and I'm sure any game I play with this group will be enjoyable so..... I'm down f...

Re: Gringnr's Sunday Night Spacejacking
I'm mainly interested in Traveller and variants thereof. Not drawing any lines in the sand, though, that's for sure. Especially since Stars Without Number is said to be based on Traveller. Also, I'd be very interested in how Penny-Whistle runs a game. Do psionics exist in SWN?

Re: Rpg rider reviews Scientology
@Gringnr: You are taking this discussion far too seriously. I'm sure if Slimy wants to chime in he will, but just looking at this thread you can tell that he's not being totally serious in his comments about Scientology. I'm pretty sure everyone on this thread is in agreement that Scientology is a ...

Re: Rpg rider reviews Scientology
Also, I may have erroneously assumed that Slimy is involved in Scientology, when he has only posted a vid of someone discussing it. And even that person, by Slimy's account, does not embrace it. Again, I suspect that Slimy posted a video, without adding context or commentary, which Rhuvein took as a...

Re: Rpg rider reviews Scientology
The expense of a religion should be meaningless, unless the intent is to offend. After all, I know my Jesus needs a roller coaster and a gold-lined swimming pool. Or, maybe its that I forgot that my rabbi requires I purchase blessed candlesticks for Shabbat... As far the course materials, if they a...

Re: Rpg rider reviews Scientology
The downside of this of course is that the media blitz happily used these stories to frame Scientology as a space cult. :P When you actually read the stuff though, you realize the hype was much ado about very little. The thing is - it is exactly that: a space cult. If it seems to be something diffe...

Re: Gringnr's Sunday Night Spacejacking
I'm up for whatever. I would def try Mongoose or even Stars Without Number (which IIRC is based on Traveller). I love classic (warts and all), probably as much out of nostalgia as anything. Playing or running Mongoose (I have a bunch of the stuff in PDF) either one I would be willing to try. I had f...

Re: Rhu's Sunday nite Greyhawk game
When we finish with the Traveller game are we going to return to Aergraith's Xylh adventure and alternate with Greyhawk? Is anyone willing to play Xylh weekly if it was run on a different night? Yeah I forgot that Aergraith and I and Rhuvein were gonna alternate. I'm good with whatever. One night a...

Re: Gringnr's Sunday Night Spacejacking
SDon78 was kind enough to dg up these clarifications for the Traveller wound rules for us. Or for me. From the Roll20 chat: SDon78: Mark Miller's errata on healing and recovery as published in JTAS: Medical Treatment In Traveller. Light wounds (don't reduce any characteristic to 0) require attention...

Re: Gringnr's Sunday Night Spacejacking

Is that already included in the damage for Submachine Gun? - Automatic gun has two different lines t...

Re: Gringnr's Sunday Night Spacejacking
I think I'd rather wait until everyone can be present. I think SDon78 would, too. Also, I may or may not need to take my dogs to an animal hospital, so my availability is likely to be touch and go anyway. I will stay in touch, maybe we can return to this game next week if neither Rhu nor Aergraith w...
