How about finesse weapons?
Rapier, short sword, dagger have their 'to hit' number based on Dex rather than Str like missile wweapons.

What, Chant is gone? That was a great spell, always the last spell after the cleric was out of spells... oh well, time to bring it back.

I've only just 'discovered' C&C; nice little mix of B/X type character generation with class and race ala AD&D. The drift in players is happening on a lot of other forum too; Dragonsfoot is the only constantly active one I know of.
