I can probably find this info on the website mentioned above, but I figured why not ask people who have played.

Is this a co-op game where the players work togther to kill the vampire, or is it competitive where the players compete for the solo glory of killing the vampire?

We managed it with 4 characters and 1 of our own working for Strahd. I'd say the odds were clearly stacked against us. It was definitely our night with the dice rolls!

I always liked the Wild Magic and Elemental Magic sections in the the Tome of Magic if my memory doesn't fail me.

Wild Mages always added that fun level of randomness to a party with the wild surges.
