How's this one coming? I have a new campaign coming up soon, and I'd love to use Aihrde for it!

Re: What do you hope for with a 5th printing PHB?

Keeping the price low is big. Buying a PHB for $20-25, and everything I need to run a game for $50 max is awesome, and a big selling point for my groups.

Re: What do you hope for with a 5th printing PHB?

I'll be so bold to say that C&C is darn near perfect. I don't think I've been able to say that about any other rpg before (though, strangely, I feel Marvel Superheroes comes close :P). Sure, it needs a few tweaks here and there - some rule "smoothing," a few clarifications, and some syntax correcti...

Re: level advancement rules.

I've simplified XP, with the cost of leveling equal to the level desired +3. So in order to get to level 2, characters need 5 XP., Level 3 they need 6 more XP, etc. Per session, give the following: 0=No show/no participation 1=Minimal participation 2=Enthusiastic/good participation 3=Epic participat...

Re: C&C Bronze Age?

But here's the issue I run into with that. 1) Bronze is way, way, WAY more common than iron at this particular epoch. I want the default assumption for a common weapon (say a bronze dagger) at +0. Iron weapons are rare, and likely won't see much use. I guess it's in how you look at it, but assigning...

Re: C&C Bronze Age?

Do you mean from the C&C main book? Because steel doesn't really exist in any sort of usable quantity in this world. :) Honestly, I'm trying to balance AC so between not having heavier armor available, PCs won't still be sitting ducks. That's why I'm tweaking shield effectiveness. But all feedback/a...

C&C Bronze Age?

My next campaign is going to be based in sort of an Aegean-type geography that's really not quite out of the Bronze Age. Ironworking, which has the advantage of being able to more mass produced, is not really into play yet; for most folks bronze is as good as it gets. A couple of points on this: -Br...

Hmm, out of all the religious people I've known, I have never met one that holds to that type time frame. This include several priests.
I've met one.

One. In 57 years.

Re: WOW! Multicellular Life Evolves in Laboratory - in 60 d

I'm a gamer, a Christian, have my B.A., homeschool my kids (our public schools are garbage here, and we're not down with the local private one), and believe in the Judeo-Christian creation of the world as the foundation of Genesis and the universe. I ensure my children are exposed to varying philos...

Is this the thread where we hang out and act superior to the masses of people who make fun of us for being gamers? Im down. LOL! I do not know if we get to "act superior" but I do wonder if there as a correlation (statistically speaking) between being a gamer and being more scientifically literate ...

Re: WOTC announcement today?

Don't believe the hype, folks. WotC can't be trusted. I wish them well, but I have my games. And I have a number of companies that never pulled their pdfs out from under customers without notice, or denigrated previous editions while pushing their new one. I just don't have a need to start over wit...

Re: I didn't kill my player's characters, but they did die..

I've always found without the threat of death, player accomplishments seem much more shallow. There's a school that says there's a lot you can do to characters short of having them die, but I think it needs to be there. Didn't Gary used to say he never killed player characters, but they did it to th...

It was a great Gen Con. The Trolls were super-nice, and I think most everyone in our gaming group picked up at least one C&C product. I like the Mystara suggestion thread...or better yet, Greyhawk.

WotC isn't doing anything, really, with either setting. I'd love to see the Trolls get a license for either. Greyhawk is probably #1 on my list, though.

Re: Mike Mearls discovers C&C (sort of)

As a quick side-jaunt here, there's at least some speculation that Pathfinder is outpeforming or at the least rivaling D&D in terms of print sales. Certainly it's the case on Amazon (an imperfect gauge, to be sure), and there are other links citing the same: http://www.icv2.com/articles/news/19177.h...
