Oh, and Gideon, I don't know who slammed you in the comments or why. I don't know who you are man, so I have nothing bad to say about you. Joe That would be Akrasia, when my name, Peter B, got mentioned. :) Not that I personally give a damn. I just think its amusing that people can divert from comm...

Re: Got my CKG PDF !
*chuckles* The comments on that blog, directed at me, are hilarious. Course, I don't think too many folks would be all that nice after they've been stalked all over the gaming forums by 'old school' gaming purists and their belittling remarks.

Course, it should be noted that what is meant by 'matte' covers is something akin to the way the AD&D books looked. The non shiny surface. It still looks cool, but doesn't reflect light like a mirror.

Well if your in business to try and promote principles thats fine, but if your in business to make money and provide the customers you have that do have principles with the products they want, then you may want to pay attention to what Neil says. I'm inclined to agree with Game Ogre. Far as I am concerned any financial gain doesn't cover the cost of principles. I'd rather starve to death than compromise and settle for 'reality'. Course, Gaimon is talking about two different things here. If he's willingly putting up stuff for free, and it hel...

Re: Pulp SIEGE info?
As an aside, I should mention that I've been kicking around using a Wisdom Save against SAN loss rather than a % roll. The rest of the system would be as standard, but your SAN roll would be based on making a standard SIEGE Wisdom Save. I could, perhaps, make it an Int OR Wis save (whichever is bet...

Course, there is a bonus to having a dragon with 6 or more legs. There's some epic sized drumstick potential there, and everyone can have a leg.

Re: How many legs does a dragon have?
Well, funny enough, I've actually been ruminating on dragon design myself recently. Its more of a "why are dragons of a specific colour a specific alignment" but that's straying from the point. First, I did the dragons in the M&T a specific way because that was what was called for. I w...

That's one of the design features of the game. Plugging in or removing whatever suits you is entirely the point. Every book put out stresses one simple thing. This is a question aimed generally at cheeplives, but anyone else "in the know" might shed some light on this as well. When I first heard about StarSIEGE I thought it would basically be "C&C in Space." Certainly it shares some common elements (such as the SIEGE mechanic), bu...

The question is too vague. The answer depends entirely on type of adventure, and who the players are.

I see the illusionist as a charisma based magic user. Along that vein, they have extraordinary capabilities of persuasion. Its rather well documented as to the effects that persuasion can have on people. Up too, and including, healing faster.

Spells like this amount to a form of ESP. They aren't 'xray vision', they are an instinctive psychic sense of general danger or safety. Time, space, and physical objects are no barrier to such a sense. At least not in my opinion.

I seem to have gone quite in a different direction in my campaign. And I've not heard of anyone doing the same. Without going into a long history, suffice it to say the cleric class doesn't exist. Healing is available, but the power to do so, as with various forms of what is often known as 'magic', ...

Band-wagoners who jumped onboard late ... I have no time for any of you! ;) Ah! While I am a fan of the most recent printings, there is a certain sexyness to the original C&C PHB. Despite the typos, the layout is fresh, the print large, and the whole book is permeated with renegade RPG cowboy m...

Re: The first split?
Thing is. This would not be the first split, as it were. There are folks who stick with our first white box collectors set, and don't play with the hard back books. They like the short list of classes. I expect we'll have another dynamic for when C&C basic comes out who wants to stick with a set...

I'm curious. What's so special about this change to the Siege Engine? Some folks found it a bit more granular to their games to use a 3 target number system. Some go with a +5. So you get 13/18 to your base target numbers instead. One of the more common variations I have seen is 12 TN for the class...

Re: New Ability for Bards: Countersong - Opinions Wanted
I thought up an idea akin to a counter-spell ability for spell casters. Basically, the caster can sacrifice a spell slot to counter an attack from a spell casting opponent. This requires an attribute check vs the level of the incoming spell. A successful check means that the defender has somehow rea...

I think the bard can actually give renewed chances for saving throws to certain effects that already in place. That'd be close enough. What level does that come into play? I'm doing up a pre-gen bard for a convention game and there's some harpies in it, so that ability would be quite useful. I supp...
