Re: Use of Deities

Curious to know how other CK's/GM's etc. use deities in their games. Simple. I don't. There's a distinct lack of clergy or divine intervention of any sort in my campaign. Outsiders might come in with some of their more outlandish notions, but ya know how foreign folks are with their strange ideas a...

Meanwhile the layout guy and artist has suffered a nervous break down and currently spends his day talking about himself in the third person, and finds brightly coloured string and folded paper shapes quite fascinating.

Re: EPP and Character Level Advancement

But does anyone do that anymore? Has anyone ran a C&C campaign where a character went from 1st to 10th level legitimately, earning every XP point through combat, magic items, and gold? I ask all these questions with a smile, because it's more humorous to me than troubling. Just curious. -Ieuane Nev...

Its trite, cliche boring and full of people who are just plain idiots. I find myself rooting for the zombies to finish the job if these are examples of the 'survivors' of such an event. Couldn't get past season one, it was torture enough. 8-)

Re: Society Adventure Compilation

Just a thought, but instead of doing lots of little things, why not do one big thing? Design a dungeon from towers to deep chasms and do it as a group project? Make it an annual or bi-annual thing so people have plenty of time to fiddle with it? This is a great idea! It is though it's certainly mor...

Re: Making the most of SEIGE

To clarify, by "tricks" I mean stunts, cinematic actions, and creative maneuvers. For example could a rogue throw dirt in an opponents eyes to temporarily blind them with a Dex check, a warrior swing for the knees to trip his foe with a strength check, and the wizard distract his foes with dancing ...

Well, there's a bit on what can be done with the siege engine in this thread. http://www.trolllord.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=11957&p=183865#p183865 Now. Lets consider abilities and prime scores for a second. This can apply to all classes, and, I don't think is overly considered. What does a pri...

Just noticed something which begs the question: Why is there an entry for the Cloaker? Don't get me wrong -- I think it's an awesome critter but, the thing is, we already have an entry for the Cloaker in the M&T. When you compare the two together, you see that they aren't identical but they *are* s...

Then I'm gonna miss it in its proper place(s). Glad to have the PDF; it looks GREAT on the Nook even now! Apparently the newer model's of the kindle support reading pdf's at least. So, in theory, those who have kindles can just get the pdf and have all the art where it belongs. I've been bending my...

Does anyone know if this is just a straight release as it was back in the '80's, or did they clean it up a bit? I highly doubt they put edits in. Only because of how the books were laid out in the 70's. Remember folks, no fancy word processors. It was all done with copy and paste with paper and glu...

Re: Listen Check...Class Skill?

Sure, your character might be able to hear a noise, but being able to identify its nature, origins, distance, and relative threat level is something that comes with training and experience. That's the difference between "Hey, I heard a noise" and "There's 20 armed orc's approaching down the corridor...

It does indeed. Its what I used to make the kindle formatting. Problem is, it doesn't convert the graphics. Re: Old portrait screen as a landscape?

I hope I haven't asked this before. Can the artwork and information from the original portrait gm screen be put onto a landscape style screen? Would that affect the appearance of the art by shrinking the image to fit? Or, is it a relatively simple procedure? It's doable. But the size of the picture...

Kindle doesn't have native PDF support? Does it support epub ? Not directly. Kindle's proprietary formats are one of the reasons I went with the Nook in the first place. So the ePub versions have no art? Kind of wondered how they handled that for Kindle. Not a huge deal to run the and play the game. Re: Surprise, Spot Hidden, Listen (A little help here!)

I'm not sure when to apply a characters level to these checks. Obviously a Rogue gets his level applied but does say a Cleric get to apply his level to a listen roll? Also, I'm inclined to combine stats for some of these abilities. It would be nice if these rules were in one place as every characte...

Does this mean that you can add a unique place, item and a NPC? (Pretty much saying it is your choice if you wish to either add a NPC, but you don't have to if you don't want.) Well, from my experience translating trollspeak, it sounds as though you can have either or both. So you can do both if yo...

As far as an ogre's damage due to strength goes, you could always use their # of HD as a damage modifier. :)

Course, since I don't think its been said already... If you find yourself still in need of something 'extra' after a certain amount of game play, or simply prefer the style, you can look into the Advantages section of the CKG. That option is there just in case the players or the CK come to the conc...

How would you handle this dual wielding orge?
The words 'very carefully' spring to mind. But anyhow...

I'd use both club damage and the other weapon damage. And I would lessen the off hand penalties wit the # of HD of the creature. 8-)
