Re: Zelkor's Ferry Obituary Notices

Fray rejoined the crew (technically he joined a totally new crew), and fought valiantly till the end to delay Nadroj the Spectre. His companion bear, Beowjaeger, nearly single-handedly killed every single evil cleric and their attendant vroc until it succumbed to its wounds. But it was at least able...

The director also did Sicario and Arrival, which are amazing films that also show his ability to handle a range of genres. I'm looking forward to giving the new Blade Runner a fair shot.

Do you worry about constant remakes and sequels?

Do you trust Denis Villeneuve because he made Sicario and Arrival?

Both?

One thing is certain: Ridley Scott is producing, so it will at least look good.

Yes - this is based on the following assumptions:
- slimykuotoan runs whatever he wants until school starts
- Kayolan runs Legend RPG or the like
- Dr. Darwin Tanner (a guy you may have met only once) runs Tunnels & Trolls or Rifts, or both

Thinking about what to run (update: uncertain schedule)

UPDATE: My schedule for Saturdays & Sundays is uncertain for the near future ---- For a while, we've had a Saturday night group that started with Kayolan running a module by Jim Ward, and which has now evolved into a more experimental group. I want to be as prepared as possible when I GM again. Thi...

In 3rd edition, Sound Burst was a 2nd-level spell, so clerics had to be at least experience level 3 to cast it.

It made a lot more sense in that context.

Re: Should the barbarian have been a race, instead of a clas

Depends on how true-to-history or true-to-fiction you want to go. True-to-history: Barbarians are simply people of a lower technology level, or who have greatly reduced centralization and therefore cannot act as a single state except in rare moments when a great chieftain rises up. Most of them woul...

The only thing about the new Star Wars movie that stood out to me as bad was the Rathtar scene. That scene was typical JJ Abrams. But the rest of the movie felt quite perfect as something that logically followed from the original trilogy. If you want to scrutinize every single little detail, then th...

Logical inconsistency is consistent with the Star Wars Original Trilogy.

For perfect logical consistency, you need a movie written by myself, or Christopher Nolan. Very different types of movies.

slimykuotoan, I gotta disagree with you about the quality of The Force Awakens. I enjoyed it quite a bit. The rehashing of old concepts was necessary to banish the spectre of the Prequel Trilogy and show that the new series would maintain the spirit of the Original Trilogy. Regarding "ridiculous con...

So if in a game where Humans get 3 primes and others get two you would suggest the virtue and vice in place of that third prime? What is Day Vision besides tongue and cheek poke "blind as anything"... Why INT, WIS and CHA?? Just curious. Finally I like the virtue and vice idea. Very classic.. expec...

The CKG section on "Adherents" shows guidelines for hiring them to make items. Casting single spells as a service would presumably be half that cost. For my own house rules (where all races get 3 primes), humans get +1 INT, +1 WIS, and +2 CHA. Making them natural magic users and knights, representing why they might eventually outbreed the other races. Humans should feel just as unique and distinct in a fantasy world as elves and dwarves.
