I eventually scrounged up enough funds to buy the PHB 3rd printing, masked by an order of the latest William Gibson novel.

Is it legal if...

Is it legal if, because I lack the full C&C PHB, I try to somehow re-create C&C versions of the Paladin, Ranger, Barbarian, etc. using a combination of various fan-made CK screens and my AD&D 2e books in order that my players be able to use these classes?

I just take stats for the smaller spiders and give them a lot more hitpoints, then increase their experience and treasure quantities to match. The fighter's combat dominance lets him hack off an extra d6 of those hitpoints per attack.

How far ahead of time do you see these archers? It sounds like you've got slightly more time than Clint Eastwood originally did.

On a more serious note: the only thing C&C is lacking is the PHB in PDF format. I bought Condensed and M&T and I need more!

It's not like that silly style of play wasn't possible in C&C - in fact, I always tell my players things like "You rolled max damage and killed the monster in one hit... um... your sword chops its body right in half and blood gushes all over."

Down in these parts, we have the opposite problem - people are so used to video games like GTA, Scarface: The Video Game, Gears of War, etc. that they complain that P&P gaming fails to make them feel pumped up about slashing hundreds of orcs in half while leaving a gooey mess.

My evil campaign

I was the CK for this short-lived campaign, but it was not necessarily short-lived on account of how unashamedly evil the three PCs were. The PCs were a Fighter, Monk and Rogue, and the Rogue forgot to buy thieving tools. Knowing full well how evil they were, I started the campaign thusly: Quote: So...
