<t>I spent a lot of time there on the D&D Minis board, so my account is all good (and doesn't look like a troll account - I've got over 2,000 posts there). I love their minis product (have 5,000 - maybe 6,000 now), mostly for RPG, but an occasional game of minis is fun. (I was pretty competitive...

Ah, the good ole days of Star Frontiers.
This is actually a system that works well in Savage Worlds. Pretty easy to convert - mostly just some of the weapons and a bit of the flavor. I saw a Savaging on Star Frontiers a while back (maybe last year) and it was pretty darn good.

Its one of the things that drew me here. I like that the system is simple enough to be able to make changes, but robust enough to handle them.

<t>Not BTB, but I like the system a friend of mine is using for treasure in his Classic D&D game ... you can spend treasure (on training) to gain XP on a 1-to-1 GP-to-XP basis. I'll probably put some limits on it in case my group nets some huge treasure haul, but in all, I like the simplicity of...

Dunno yet, to be honest. Still working that out. I'll probably start BTB, and adjust from there. The group will start as 1st level characters, so we'll have plenty of chances to see if that it too high.

You'll have a hard time finding it in most dictionaries, but I recall the definition was "an old soldier", coming from what Napoleon called some of his soldiers.

I am (at least for now) convinced not to use the exploding dice. I figure if I want to play Savage Worlds, I just should play Savage Worlds.
But for the upcoming C&C game I am going to try 2d10 instead of a d20 and see how that works out.

Thanks for all the input.

I'll have to try Noble Knight. Always good to know another good online seller.

I usually use Amazon. I ordered something from RPGShop weeks ago (trying them for the first time) to use in my upcoming C&C campaign, and it still hasn't gotten here yet. Grr.

That is definitely one of the benefits of giving them out on a per session basis - they can't hoard them and then use them all in one crushing moment.
