The life of a Bard

This comic, while funny, has a bad word in it. Don't read it of bad words offend you or you are like 12 or something.

Classic Monsters: The Manual not being nominated for "Best Interior Art" is a joke. Sarah, Jason and Pete really brung it.

Re: Basics of Monsters and Treasure

I have always used the "# appearing" as a guide, not a rule. Say a creature type shows "5-20" as the number appearing. They are a 1HD creature and the party is 6 people averaging 2nd level. I figure, to be challenging, I'd need about 10 of said creatures. 10 is inside the 5-20 ra...

Re: Major typo in Free RPG Day adventure?

@ Kim, on freerpgday.com there's a map of participating retailers... (like this helps you now, I know) Yeah, I saw that and realized no one in Arkansas was participating, but I took my chances and drove to both anyway. But I did get a new set of dice and the board game Elder Sign for Father's Day, ...

Re: Major typo in Free RPG Day adventure?

It went great! I spent last night working out some of the layout and printing kinks and felt solid about running it, and I'll tell ya, past those blemishes it was good stuff! Funny as hell NPC's, fun locations, a good amount of intrigue and open ended enough to fudge the way I wanted...and my group...

Re: Major typo in Free RPG Day adventure?

I went by TLG HQ last week and asked Steve for a copy, but he had already sent them all out. So today I go to the two FLGS here in Little Rock and neither were participating in FreeRPG Day. So,I haven't even seen the adventure in print form.

I'd certainly love to see an "established" world get official C&C treatment. Blackmoor, JG Wilderlands, Lankhmar, something old school in flavor.
I'd quit my job and write full-time for TLG if we got Hyboria as a setting.

I agree, it works! Also, hate to rub it in, but I just noticed the bottom right of every page says "MODULE TITLE"...instead of the module title :P Duh, that is the real name of the module. My next work will be entitled, "FANTASY FICTION NOVEL". It's a fantasy-fiction novel I'm w...

Re: Major typo in Free RPG Day adventure?

Well the thing is the 4th level characters in the back were a mess up as stated by Steve earlier. Which means it really was supposed to be for 1st level characters as it states in the beginning. Some of the encounters just seemed a bit off to me, but I've read the whole thing now and I think it's o...

Re: Major typo in Free RPG Day adventure?

First off, how are people getting this? Isn't FreeRPG Day next Saturday? Maybe we can sneak some QSR in there prior to Saturday. I wrote it to have multiple "things". Some in-town stuff, some overland stuff, some dungeon stuff. Fighting, role-playing, challenges. I knew when I wrote it, it...

Re: Major typo in Free RPG Day adventure?

Hell, I wrote it and haven't even seen it. Steve wanted to add some pre-gens since it was a FreeRPG Day adventure and we figured we'd get a lot of new folks grabbing it. No idea why they are 4th level. If I had to guess, I'd just say he Steve'd it. The adventure isn't set in any known world. I made ...

If you are an 80s nerd (D&D, video games, sci-fi movies, arcades, et al... and who here doesn't embrace at least one of those, if not many), READ THIS BOOK. It jumped from "unknown" to "Top 3" in one weekend. Seriously, an awesome book.

I'm not suggesting a whole and wholesome biography of each person -- I'd just like to know who I'm talking to in these forums. Speaking of Barnes & Nosebulls, I just posted the following review at their site, since no one else had: This is based on the PDF, as I haven't seen the Nook version yet, and will review it again (if this site will let me) when it comes in. Currently, I'd have to say this is the best "mons...
