Re: Aergraith's Sunday C&C: "Heroes and Scoundrels of Xylh"

By the way, do you know of a rule in PHB or CKG that specifies ongoing fire damage? I know WoTC has such a rule, but can't find it in C&C. Things like Pitch (CKG) and Oil (CK screen) specify, but they have a number of rounds they burn because they are highly flammable fuel. I think some of the ...

Re: Aergraith's Sunday C&C: "Heroes and Scoundrels of Xylh"

Penny, for sure . . in that if this was a long term game, one should probably put the 18 on INT. But here's my thinking . . char concept as you mentioned ~ I'm going for a more aggressive combat oriented chaotic neutral crazy SOB gnome nutbag. So . . putting the 18 into DEX helps my AC and gives me ...

Indeed.

I haven't looked at this module (and won't) in over 10 years or just after it was written. I wonder if Mike had the C&C White Box in mind when he put this module together?

Woot, yeah. I rolled an 18 attribute ~ using the C&C purple dice!!! For HPs 1st lvl, I used the C&C black regular d4 and rolled a 3!!! For HPs 2nd lvl, I used the C&C purple tube style d4 - I know, I was thinking this die is not going to roll. But it did and . . . a 4!!! OK, so now what ...

Re-reading A6, A7 and A8!! Brilliant stuff. Davis writes great modules. And Steve is a master at modules. These guys got it and the "A" series is a masterpiece. They get together for A10! I've already posted about the Aufstrag Dungeons (A14 - A17) ~ some of the best dungeon delving adventu...

Re: Castle Keepers Guide

It's a fabulous book, IMO.

Initially, I thought I would only use it as an idea generator and did.

But eventually, I began to use bits of it in my online games.

I think if I ever ran a face to face tabletop game, I would use it much more in my campaigns/games.

It might be a bad idea, if they don't improve the look, feel and mechanics of that forum over there. Right now it's pretty useless and drab. I won't go there unless they bring it up to speed.

The A-series. And it's expensive, last I knew, but I liked Castle Zagyg: The Upper Works. For others, like regular modules and not "megadungeons" then there are several TLG modules I like. The first one that springs to mind is Heart of Glass. A Series: I read A0 and A1, not great dungeons...

R.I.P. !

I enjoyed 2 of her books, The Left Hand of Darkness and The Dispossed - excellent reads. Sheesh, it was probably about 40 years ago when I read them.

I have The Eathsea Trilogy and have been wanting to read it . . might be a good time.
