Re: Hex Crawl Awesomeness

Thanks for the response guys. Lots of good ideas and good advice. I just got the pdfs of the Wilderlands of High Fantasy, Players Guide of the Wilderlands, and a bunch of other stuff. I couldn't believe the price on the box set...though it would be sweet to snag it. I just have to be happy with the ...

The Society meets at www.castlesandcrusades.ning.com nowadays. There have been a few folks that unfortunately still head over to the old site.

Hex Crawl Awesomeness

I just discovered the awesomeness of the Hex Crawl, via the example pdf at Frog God Games. Could someone point me toward products that follow this format? I can't wait for the releases with FGG. Could someone point to the titles of other "Hex Crawl" sandbox style products? I am so in.

Fields of Battle Questions

I have been trying to learn the rules to this awesome looking game, but I am finding that, as written, I am having a diffiult time grasping some of the elements. 1. Facing- The rules indicate that any adjacent units may attack eachother; i would assume the attacking unit must be facing the opponents...

Re: Hardback CK Screen

Piperdog made it happen with his unrelenting geekyness! While unrelenting geekyness is one of my better qualities :ugeek: , I think credit has to go to Breakdaddy, who has long plead this case with Steve! My new question would be a time frame of release. I would imagine this is way down the road, m...

Re: Hardback CK Screen

Did my ears decieve me or did I just hear Steve announce hardback screens are coming in the future? The new video was very encouraging indeed. With the new bindery, there will be a a lot of cool stuff coming down the pike.

As to the screens, I am pretty pumped up about that.

Society Membership Info

Hey guys, there has been some confusion as to the new Society site. If you have been trying to log onto the new Ning site for the Society with your old passwords it won't work. This is a whole different dealio, and you have to create an account first, then log on. From what I have been hearing, folk...

CK Screen pdf

Anybody else buy the CK Screen on RPGNow? I just bought it, but was a bit disappointed. I bought it for my cool Hammerdog customizable screen, but the pdf only had the four interior panels. I was looking forward to the cool exterior art of Pete Bradley on the front of my screen, but unfortunately it...

Re: New World of Airhde in 2011

I hope that the new codex (and future Inzae products) has a dictionary style pronunciation guide; it would be cool to know I am not butchering the words. I find that in Airhde, and especially Inzae stuff, there are a surprising lack of vowels. The words look way cool because of it, but I am stupifie...

Man am I excited about getting this book. I don't have it yet, but from the information posted on the boards, I am getting the impression that it would be useful for potential publishers as well. From the sound of it, you could sort through all the concepts and options and literally forge your own u...

New Chat Room for Society

Hey all. Some good news for those who like to chat, the new Society site ( go to http://www.castlesandcrusades.ning.com ) has an "always on" chat interface, like facebook, at the bottom of the home page (it's easy to miss so you need to look for it). There is also a video chat feature call...

I am also curious as to the new CK Screen mentioned. As I just said in another thread, I hope they do a hardcover screen. Pulp Seig...

Hardback CK Screen

With the ability to do their own hardcover books, I hope that also means the ability to do a hardback CK Screen; the hardcover screens for games like 4e and Dragon Age are really, really nice. For my 2 cents, I would hope for a 4 panel landscape screen. With my hobbit size, it is difficult to see th...

Re: Saving throws for Class-and-a-half characters

Hey Fin, the class and a half is an option listed at the back of the latest printing of the PHB. Basically, you pick a primary class, then you pick another class to be a supporting class; in essence, your character gets a few of the special abilities of the other class, but usually not all, and unli...

Re: New World of Airhde in 2011

I really want to see this in the upcoming year. The Codex is awesome, but hard on the eyes and a not-so-intuitive layout. The Folio is excellent, because it gives you just enough to get started and create your own world. I am guilty of enoying both approaches. That being said, I would like to see th...

Collector's Edition

Now that the CKG is about to hit the press, I wanted to bring this up again for the Trolls. The old collectors editon leatherettes with the gold foil were ass-kicking awesome. I remember a while back we were talking about a new run of collector's edition books, and Steve said they were going to wait...

Re: Hits vs HP

Well, I get where you're going with the idea...a little like the Savage Worlds wound system which is ...er...fast and furious. With C&C though, rolling for damage is really an integral part of the game....without it, strength bonuses, various weapon sizes, magic bonuses....don't come into play. ...
