Re: Minis painted by jdizzy

I was pretty sure a fair number were Reaper or Dark Sword. I thought I recognized them, and Reaper makes up about 80% of my mini's, and Dark Sword is probably around 10%. Only GW I recall buying has been sci fi, not Fantasy.

Thats what it is to me as well. Only RPG I have played so much, and still stuck with it for so long. Running Victorious right now. My daughter likes it so much she started running it (Victorious) for her friends this past Friday.

Nice! Be nice to know where you get all of these mini's. IE what company makes them, stock numbers, etc... Just in case we want to hunt any of them down for our own games...

Re: What is needed for a successful ‘high magic’ setting ??

The game inherently levels itself to "High Magic" in most ways. As for floating castles, flying ships, etc... you can tweak how "High magic" it is by deciding if its still possible to create such magical wonders, or if the few that remain no longer can be created, etc... Generall...

Re: Victorious will be next...

This is a low power setting. Granted, it isn't the lowest you can possibly do with Victorious, but for a full "super human" game, this is still very low power. Look at what all of you can do, and your all only first level. Now just try to imagine where you would be if we play until your al...

Let me just remind you how her minion was giving you all so much trouble, until you took him on as a group, instead of just 1 or 2 of you. I am not running a Daredevil or Spiderman or Batman game. I am running an X-men, Justice League, Legion of Super Heroes, Avengers style game. Your enemies are to...

Mind Flayer is. Its actually a very short list as to what is "protected". Like less than a dozen monsters. I haven't read it in a couple of years, but pretty sure none of the others are on the "protected" list.

Ok, but keep in mind that unless otherwise purchased there is no "invisible" power effects. The mind can be attacked, but A) It will be obvious what's happening, and B) the psychic attack can be followed back to its source. So, its not an invisible 'kick the can at will' type of ability. ...

Yeah, its worth it, especially if your looking for an entirely new setting. Even so, the 5 cities are usable in pretty much any setting. Plus, its Savage Worlds, a system i like. Even if you don't expect to ever play using those rules, the setting material, history, etc... can be modified to fit any...

Exhaustion

DM Mike, I need to talk to you about this rule. Its good for in a typical "combat" scenario, but its not good for outside of combat. For example, one of your pre gens has Telepathy. After they "contact" a given mind, they always know where that mind is. So can always "attack...

ENERGY DRAINS: When hit by a creature that energy drains you get a save. The save is CON based, CL is equal to HD of the creature. If you fail the save then you lose a level and HP loss is equal to your HD average plus your CON bonus, if any So if you are a fighter you lose 5+CON bonus in hit points...

I don't limit it in number of times per day, I limit its frequency. I have them breathe every 2 to 5 rounds. IE 1d4+1 rnds. If the party is going to win, they usually have killed the dragon before it gets its third breathe. If they haven't, they have switched to avoiding the TPK tactics. If I ever h...

Most of the Advanced Adventures line have struck me as so-so, with a handful of good modules and a larger number of stinkers. I don't think the compilations are great values. I'd just get the individual modules that strike your fancy. Thats probably the best way to go. The vast majority of adventur...

The biggest contention for me, in my case, is they only rated me for two issues, ever. There are something like a half dozen issues they should have rated me on since day 1. Then there are a number of other directly related issues that over the years could have increased my over all rating. So the b...

If he qualifies, he qualifies. If he doesn't, he doesn't. What kind of person he is, isn't supposed to matter. So the only question you need to answer is, did he truly earn it, or are you making it to where he could earn it? So present the facts. No twisting, no embellishment. Just the facts. That i...
