I agree with Treebore; don't bother with the 3.x version (but you can always mine it for ideas). I have the UMI and UMII PDF's and they are very good, and way more compatible with C&C.

I'll second Dark Chateau, especially if you'll be doing anything later on with Castle Zagyg. Once you get past the typos, it's a great adventure, filled with a little bit of everything (exploration, goblin-bashing, puzzles, humor, etc.).
