Yeah, I work as a contractor at an Intel facility and have to deal with PC's all the time. Hate 'em. Well, Win-blows more specifically. Linux is nice if you have the time to fiddle. Personally, I leave the PC's at work and use a Mac at home.

There was a house rule we tried once, way back when in AD&D. It was max HP at first level, then we rolled double HD each level, taking the highest of the two rolls. Worked pretty well.

'Tis true. Not very easy to wrangle the stats over to C&C/SS from SF, but the adventures are good fun and full of great ideas for setting, plot, NPC's, and creatures.
