Re: [Amazing Adventures] Other pulpy goodness
Yeah, someone else pointed that out to me. It's pretty awesome. Next time I do an Amazing Adventures campaign I may have to make pulp covers to set up for each adventure I run.

Re: Campaign set ups for Amazing Adventures ...
Yeah, someone just brought this to my attention the other day. If I ever get an opening in my group to run an AA campaign (as opposed to playtesting new stuff here and there) I may have to use that generator to make a cover for every adventure, and hang it outside the GM screen.

Ironside, thanks for the backup over there on the poll thread! I've no idea why that dude feels the need to lie just to blast AA, but I appreciate you allowing me to maintain my professionalism.

Amazing Adventures Discussions
There are currently three discussion threads regarding Amazing Adventures over at RPGNet. Three that I know of, anyway. So if any of you are of a mind, get over there and keep it going! I could also use your voices on the AA vs. SW poll! http://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?672668-Amazing-Adventures-...

Re: Amazing Adventures: Moment of Truth
Woot, looks like there are two more threads up for it. One is an AA vs. Savage Worlds poll...if anyone would be willing to get over there and cast a vote for AA, then talk up the game, that'd be aces!

Re: Amazing Adventures: Moment of Truth
I'd post over at RPG.net but I don't own it and really have no idea what to say. If someone could "coach" me and even better provide some kind of good link that has some good info, I'd be glad to help. The big thing for me is that AA is "C&C in a pulp era". Some non-C&C ...

Re: Amazing Adventures: Moment of Truth
Yeah, I think that's partially because people come to the TLG booths looking for C&C and tend to overlook non-C&C games. That's why we need discussion, buzz, and word of mouth to get the word out there that AA exists. I think it could catch on with enough discussion!

Amazing Adventures: Moment of Truth
And we have a THIRD five-star review of Day of the Worm at DriveThruRPG! The Thule Society, a dark Nazi cult dedicated to furthering the esoteric knowledge that fuels the ever growing Third Reich, may have acquired the ancient Heart of Yhtill and all the power it promises. Worse still, they appear t...

Re: Amazing Adventures: Day of the Worm
Day of the Worm is a direct sequel to the adventure in the core book and assumes you have run that adventure. However, DotW can be used on its own as a standalone module with a tiny bit of tweaking (which is covered in the module's text). I don't know that it's going to be the first in a series, tho...

Re: Using a Damage Save instead of AC?
It occurs to me that you could feasibly allow the check to be made by pretty much any one of the PC's ability scores--there's rationale for using just about any one to escape damage...that would fix the balance again. Strength would represent your ability to physically deflect the blow. Dexterity, o...

Re: Campaign set ups for Amazing Adventures ...
There is actually a bit of a campaign set-up in the game (the sample adventure at the end of the core book), and with the associated first adventure module, Day of the Worm, which picks up where the book's adventure leaves off. I'm not continuing that specifically for future adventures (I may someda...

Re: Amazing Adventures Character Creation Question
If you want a more balanced spread for that method, go with 16 or 17 points. Unless my math is off, 17 points should give you:
0 0 0 +1 +2 +2
Or
0 0 0 +1 +1 +3
0 0 0 +1 +2 +2
Or
0 0 0 +1 +1 +3

Re: Amazing Adventures (MEP)
The sorcerer in 3.x can cast any spell he knows, but only has so many slots of each level each day. So he might have 6 first level, 4 second, and 2 third level spells. Once he's out of third level slots, he's out of third level slots (though I think there is an OPTION to allow him to use higher leve...

Re: Amazing Adventures Character Creation Question
Yes, you end up with a +3 in one stat and +2 in all the others. If you don't want a very high powered game, this probably isn't the method you want to use.

Re: Amazing Adventures (MEP)
Relaxo: yes, that's correct, though I'd say the use of MEP makes them MORE flexible than a sorcerer in 3.5. Redwulf's analogy is actually spot-on. Consider the spell book as the sum total of your arsenal. The spells you prepare are those weapons you choose to take from the arsenal and carry with you...

Re: Amazing Adventures (MEP)
Wizards still can only prepare so many spells per day. The MEP reserve is then used to cast these spells with impunity. Why is it this way? Well, the in-game explanation is thus: Spells require extensive rituals to cast. When an Arcanist prepares spells, he is in effect performing the ritual part of...
