Just to point out, your humble editor did the best he could. But even he misses some things, like that chart. @Treebore: I know what you mean. Victorious was a clusterf**k that could have been avoided. Yeah, just to be clear, I know it wasn't you. Best I can figure it had to be Steve sending in the...

Re: Kickstarter for 7th Printing PHB up [look carefully]

I have to agree with Buttmonkey on this one. I'm thinking that C&C is reaching a saturation point where all the people who want to play it have it in some form or another. Other companies at this point would be busting out their computers and beginning work on a second edition, but TLG doesn't want ...

Re: 6th Printing PHB Errata

Serleran understands my thought process here. The initial document is done in Word, then the text is imported into Adobe InDesign for layout. However, I never had access to a Word document when doing the PHB. Even if I did I guarantee that the spell checker wouldn't find all the spelling errors, and...

Re: 6th Printing PHB Errata

It's a matter of priorities. Spelling errors have a very low priority compared to mechanics fixes, and a game with its mechanics working correctly can survive spelling errors. No matter how many spelling errors are found, more will crop up simply because we're fallible creatures, and sometimes gloss...

Re: 6th Printing PHB Errata

I'll be completely honest. I'm willing to live with spelling errors at this stage of the game, so long as they aren't on the front or back covers. What I want to see is any lingering mechanics issues corrected. Things like missing modifiers, incorrect modifiers, and confusing text. For example, miss...

Re: 6th Printing PHB Errata

My goal? I just want a place to house all the errata so myself and the Trolls can look at it as needed. Especially since I know I missed stuff from the fifth print.

Have your gaming crew compile their stuff and post it here.

Re: Save for Half Episode #1: "Doctor Who RPG by FASA"

A big part of the problem with FASA Dr. Who is that the system is essentially the FASA Star Trek system, with some bits bolted on to try and hide its origins. These days, with Cubicle 7's far superior product FASA Dr. Who is pretty much a curiosity and nothing more. Though, your mention of the game ...

Cold forged metal was discussed in a thread about the ghast's cold iron vulnerability. See http://www.trolllord.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=15977&p=239213&#p239213 for details, but in short, no steel or bronze as both require a forge. Most CKs likely don't use the rule as it's more flavor text th...

Re: 6th Printing PHB Errata

LOL. I typed my reply in a hurry while working. That's what happens when I don't think things through before typing. In general your finds are spot on, and a few of these have dated back years. Including the intimate modifier, as my editing copy of the 4th print mentions adding that particular modif...

Re: 6th Printing PHB Errata

I don't have spare time to exhaustively comment on these, but regarding the Illusionist Disguise ability, I believe the lack of an intimate modifier is deliberate. I'll check my notes when I'm able, as well as check the rest of these.

6th Printing PHB Errata

With supplies of the 6th print PHB running low, now is the time to point out the various gaffes, mistakes, omissions and snafus present in the rules, so they can be fixed for the 7th print. This is probably the best place to post them, and from there they can all be sent to the Trolls. To start off,...

Re: Great Scimitar, 6th Printing

Scimitars are listed as swords in the 6th print equipment list because that is what they are. They just happen to have a curvature to the blade. However, that's beside the point, which is that the Great Scimitar should have an asterisk next to it, as it is a two-handed weapon. As to what swords a dr...

Re: Metamorphosis Alpha for SIEGE?

That really funky flow diagram for figuring out how artifacts work needs an overhaul though  I'd have to check my copy, but 2d Edition I believe did away with the flowcharts. One of the many improvements that make 2d Edition the best version of the game. And on a side note for anyone intereste...

All that's happening is one lonely person out there, attempting to impose his warped view of political correctness on a community that really doesn't care. The rpg.net thread should have told him that, but he was too myopic to see it.

Re: Map to Globe website

The only problem with using Aihrde or most other gaming maps is they don't provide the entire world, but only a section. For example the Greyhawk maps in the World of Greyhawk set only cover the eastern portion of the Oerik continent. Oerth has another continent which was never detailed. Still cool ...

Monsters & Treasure 4th Print Dragon XP Errata

As I note in my Monsters & Treasure XP Computations document, dragons are the most complex creatures in the game to generate XP values for, as the number of specials change depending on the age of the dragon, as well as whether the dragon has dragon magic or not. Each dragon was missing specials for...

Re: Holy Water

That's what house rules are for. I pointed out OD&D because Castles & Crusades emulates OD&D on this point, in that they leave the specific effects for the CK to determine. I wouldn't call this "rules vague", but CK discretion. On a side note, has d20 conditioned everyone to seek out a rule for ever...

What I find interesting about holy water is that it's the material component in a couple of spells ( divination, shield of faith , if I recall correctly). Something I never noticed as I don't use material components. Anyway, the CKG does provide the "official" answer to the question, although I beli...
