It's quite simple actually. You're equating "unable to act" with "unconscious". By the RAW, stun effects only provide a +2 modifier, not +10, meaning a stunned being must still be able to defend itself. It's simply not as effective at defense due to being stunned, thus the +2. Th...

Yes to both questions. Detect alignment requires the chosen alignment (law, chaos, good, or evil) be declared when cast. In the case of the paladin ability, the choice has already been made.

"As per the spell" should read "as per the detect alignment spell."

The disease section is new in the CKG, and the tables do appear to have some issues, notably the use of "Affect" when it should be "Effect". The triple asterisk should indeed apply to 8 and 9 only in those tables.

The sentence in question probably should read "All beings have a minimum SR of 1", rather than the current wording or even the wording I used in the PHB.
