Re: RIP Greg Stafford (1948-2018)

This is a damn shame... 70 isn't that elderly nowadays, and I'm sure I speak for everyone with sympathy to his family. :(

Sounds pretty awesome! Is this group meeting bimonthly or weekly on Mondays? Same bat-time?

Re: Adhock magic & gadgets

Yeah, I've been pleasantly surprised at the popularity of Hunter & Hunter. I'd originally just thought of it as a small adjunct book that perhaps should've been in the rules to begin with....but people seem to really enjoy it as its own 'catalog'! Glad it was of use! Hopefully a monocle made it ...

Alas, that just goes to show it needed more explanation in the book. <sigh> Once Evil in the White City comes out maybe I can roll that up as the next project. :)

Re: Star Victory

Looks reasonable. You infer it, but you might want to specify that the Invulnerability (unlike in the book) is something you must concentrate on. I'm thinking more Vader's parrying of Han's blaster shots and not so much light saber parrying?

Re: Adcock magic & gadgets

Pretty interesting! With the skill checks, were you still allowing saves versus all the magick effects or did you figure the SR was enough? Gadgets...I guess the big question is, does he invent them himself or is he getting them from another org? If the latter, then its easy to refit and get new/dif...

Well, let he who does not have a book out with "see page XX" in it cast the first stone on typos. ;) Agreed about keeping it (dare I say) "Grand" for the tweens. Still a good use on what is essentially a skill on very unusual knowledge. History/Legend might work for it, but this ...

Re: Star Wars Victorious

My wife Liz and I are considering doing a Victorious podcast soon, and if we do she's pushing me to do the first episode on the Invention and Magick systems; then later Themes and Battlesuit/Gadgets. I agree that probably either better descriptions are needed for the packages or more examples. If th...

Re: Star Victory

Regarding the archtypes, I've gotta admit I've never been comfortable with SW or ST as campaign games so I really can't say. They...look good? Good list of skills, and I never thought of describing Martial Arts as any DEX based weapons vis a vis Melee as STR based weapons. Pretty nifty! I'd probably...

As ever, GM fiat but I don't allow the entire theme to be upgraded. That would be waaay too powerful. A Grand setting might work though for such power levels.

Re: Star Wars Victorious

Mike, would you make it Profession (Starship) or just a Starship skill. I really like to stay inside the rules as much as possible. That was my thinking behind Profession (Pilot). Which I think can be applied across the board for piloting skills. Much like driving. If you can drive one type of car,...

Re: Star Wars Victorious

When I first created Etiquette: Crass, I had in mind cockney slang and thus sort of a "Thieves Cant" that doubled as lower-class jargon. Still, you might consider a criminal etiquette only insofar as they have a unique set of rules and regulations like the military. Maybe a Yakuza-style cr...

I don't know about the others, mostly I'd say they are uses of a Victory Point to guarantee a success in jumping/telepathy;etc. For the crate barrage on Luke by Vader, correct me if I'm wrong but didn't they come at him one at a time. Fast I'll grant you, but not 2-3 at once? Perhaps Luke rolled a &...

Partially true, though I'd wanted to move beyond the sieg persona for a while. I dont' have access to change it though. Considering Tim Kask agreed with the sentiments though, I dont' see the problem?
