Re: Victorious will be next...

Today is my wife's Birthday. Depending on how she feels when I pick her up from her 10 hour day at work, I may be taking her out. If so, I will not be running Victorious, and apologies to Mike. That said, recall she is also a 100% Disabled Veteran, so if I do get to take her out I will be more than ...

Re: Favorite magic items

When I was in the Navy I got to play in some truly epic games with truly epic characters. Artifacts and Relics were given out, mainly, I think, because the GM/DM in question just wanted to see how much it would affect the game itself. Which it did, either to relatively minor effect, to totally ruini...

Re: Saves vs Things

I get how Saves work in general. Spells are simple enough. The Challenge Level is the Caster's level. What is the Challenge Level for items? Say I have a Ring of Charm Person. What is the Challenge Level for saving against that wand? Is it based on the spell level or is there a standard Challenge R...

Tree, I haven't been able to watch a full episode of "Legion" yet, but looking at teasers excerpts etc, I'm not sure it fits how I picture Roger's mental fight with Scima. I will give you that it is an interesting concept and will probably be a show I like, but it isn't Roger/Scima Howeve...

Re: Interesting House Rules

My house rules are lengthy because of three reasons. One, I play with a certain crowd that needs the rules spelled out in detail. Two, I essentially rewrote the entire hard rules sections of the PHB (and a little of the M&T) to be precise and stave off common arguments. And lastly I format and ...

My house rules address a number of issues I have had with C&C, and D&D in general, plus I've been turning C&C into my perfect game for over 12 years now. So my house rules doc is rather long, but it gives me what I consider to be my near perfect D&D style game, so... C&C House Ru...

Re: Wizards, Fighters, and Balance

Its simple power envy. Spell casters are on their way to becoming demi gods, and Clerics are conduits for gods. Plus, the big draw back to being a spell caster, is your everyone's primary target. Which is why they need the fighter types to stay alive. Plus, the fighter types keep them alive when the...

Re: Wizards, Fighters, and Balance

Besides, people who make such complaints always forget the biggest "balance" of all. However many spell casters are in their own party. Always a point worth making when examining a particular class on its own. Adventurers are meant to be part of a balanced, nutritious breakfast. Yep. 4 to...

Re: Wizards, Fighters, and Balance

I think having magic stay so potent makes all those potions, scrolls and spells that offer protection, better saves', immunity to being held, etc... remain very important, and make attaining magic items that confer similar benefits a worthy goal. Besides, people who make such complaints always forge...
