Re: Cursed Democrazy! *spits*

You'd have to ask my players what the City State of the Invincible Overlord, etc... is like. I don't think I present them as Democratic... Plus my players have never run for an office, they kill the guy that had it, and take over. Nice little town ya got here. Be a shame if somethin' were to happen...

Re: D&D 4th ed/5th ed/Pathfinder GM Considering C&C

One more under the hood question: How do I know how many foes a group can face at one time? I know pre-3e games don't have encounter guidelines. But the problem I have is if I throw 4 kobolds at a level group in 4e I know it's going to be a moderate fight. In Pathfinder I know there's an outside ch...

Re: D&D 4th ed/5th ed/Pathfinder GM Considering C&C

I was putting together some houserules to make D&D 5th edition feel more like AD&D when it was pointed out the direction I was headed was very much replicating Castles & Crusades. I've read reviews for C&C before and moved on because of the wonky DC 12/18 (except when a GM says it's...

Re: One-off tonight: AD&D 'Tomb of the Lizard King'

Well...I am displeased with myself. The pacing was uneven and I feel that really took away from what this session could have been for the players. I thought it worked fine. Things always seem more disjointed on the DM side of the table because you have read the whole module, plus you wanted to comp...

Sounds interesting, although completing a whole module as a one off might be a wee bit optimistic (then again, the way we play, the module might well end tonight, just not with player victory  )

I'll check back in later and see if any of these tryptophaned americans sign on

I don't have the book in question, but it could be read as the berserker, if he fails to control his anger, charges into battle with the perceived foe, mindless of his own health, or any strategy the party is trying to organise. Certainly this would be more playable than a "vorpal" charact...

I'm not keen on humans having 3 primes. I would rather they have two, just like every other race. Humans are probably younger than other races when beginning their careers, so having more primes doesn't really make sense to me. What do you think would be a good alternative?
