Re: Cursed Democrazy! *spits*

I guess my experience differs. Seems to me like virtually every fantasy movie and game does have a royal presence. And hahahaha nobilty use UK accents; ordinary people sound like North Americans.

Re: Friday Night Amazing Adventures

I have a copy of the Quickstart and a copy of the core book uploaded. I don't have the Companion PDF, but since I have the core book and the Monster book in PDF, I probably do own it, just never DLed it since I have the physical copy. If its needed, I will see if I have the PDF available to me on o...

Re: Friday Night Amazing Adventures

I've been using the Dresden Files rpg to construct the setting. With that system players become part of the world creation. If there is anything you want to see in the world or any particular type of conflict you are interested in let me know. For example, one player in passing mentioned the idea of...

Re: Friday Night Amazing Adventures

I'm thinking Gadgeteer. Which I think will be conducive to my being there and not there. Great choice. I was leaning towards this when looking at the classes. Yeah, hopefully the timing will work out with the sessions I miss having me "off scene" building a new gadget or two. Nice choice!...

Hmm, mentalist ! I'm thinking ~ Lamont Cranston, The Shadow (great movie !!!). Hypnotic telepathy, invisibility and "the power to cloud men's minds". "The sun is shining . . . but the ice is slippery"! :D 8-) Oh this is really going to be fun. Let me know if something doesn't so...

"Humfray"! I like him! So, how will you present the pre-gens? Will you post a list (not necessarily with stats, too much work), but perhaps a short list. I don't know a thing about this game, but I don't want you to have to do excess work 'cause I don't have the rule book. Still hoping th...

If you don't have the book, hate creating characters or just want to drop in I will have a bank of characters you can use. I bumped the Quick Start Inquiry thread in the AA subforum, but I would probably considered using one of your pre-gens. :) Thanks! I hope you will consider joining us. I love t...

Cool BM and thanks for the kind words ~ and plunder away. One thing I liked about the old west setting was using abandoned mines instead of a dungeon. So many natural hazards and creatures can be utilized or turn the hazards into traps or have both. Fires, poison gas, cave-ins, earthquakes and expo...

2012 -- so using 15 prime instead of 12/18? Setting modern(ish) day? Are you using Spellcraft checks or just doing C&C style saves? Are you doing the +7 armor for everyone? ok. clarification stuff ahead: I mentioned the 2012 version for making up character related stuff. For mechanics and gamep...

A great example! Thank you so much. I am sure I will refer to that in the future. He is a minor character but the more I think about him the more interesting he gets. This series has a lot of depth to it -- each character is like a foil to all the others. Iterations on a theme. I sure hope it will b...

Friday Night Amazing Adventures

I would like to run an Amazing Adventures game on Fridays between 8-10 central time on roll20.net Any and all are welcome to join as long as you promise to play nicely. Regular players are preferred but drop-ins are welcome, too. The proposed play time can be adjusted to make it easier for West and ...

Yes! While I was watching it last week I was also thinking: this looks like Amazing Adventures material. Even Trish Walker (who at this point doesn't have super powers) works as a Socialite. AA is just so flexible. I really love it.

One dead tomb robber and a 14 sided die

A story about pieces of the ancient board game Liubo found by archeologists. Not really about C&C but I know some people out there like dice.

I am kind of surprised that this term creates any controversy. Heh, you should have seen how bent out of shape people got on forums like WOTC, ENWorld and rpg.net over this. Naw, its better that you missed out on all of that. If you can sum it up I'm all ears but I kind of suspect one of those absu...

Re: How to Build a Universe

I won't get into a lot of religious discussion. But I grew up with a parent that went rabid religious fanatic for almost a decade before waking up. Being the questioning sort and a lover of mythology growing up I've always wondered if the Greek Gods and all that were actually angels or nephilm and ...

I am kind of surprised that this term creates any controversy. As finarvyn notes, the name itself is descriptive. When I hear 'sandbox' I think of children playing in the sand with whatever toys or materials happen to be at hand. Depending on their development they will play cooperatively or simply ...

A bit similar to Lurker there though slightly different. My world's pantheon consists of three powers. The God of Light, Nature, and Evil. The Good church has a schism going within it and an active 'civil war' if you will wherein the zealots are at war with those that tacitly acknowledge the existe...

I can picture how a setting might reflect our economics and our understanding of science. But I wonder how you were able to incorporate your faith into your setting. I'd like to hear more. I suppose that one of the reasons these games endure is that people have so much freedom to express what is im...
