Snow!

Post by Tadhg »

Well we had a weird weather day here in the Chicagoland area. Sunshine, snow, sleet, snow and back to sunshine. It was quite unusual. But, nothing compared to western New York with their 2 feet or so.

I'm gonna guess that Serleran is without power. Haven't seen him here or anywhere online.

Today, back to normal, sunny, windy and cool fall weather!

Same here in Toronto, I have no idea what is going on. Just a few days ago it was a balmy 24 and now its 4 within 3 days.

Is the army ready! HAHAHA! 8) (inside joke between Montrealers and Torontonians!)

Just joking!

Montreal has had nice days followed by cold snaps, but no snow - yet! As long as there is snow between Dec 23 and Jan 1 I'm happy - after that it can all melt away for all I care!

We're equally lucky here in Ottawa -- no snow. It's been kinda shilly the past couple of days. I'm just happy I'm not in Buffalo!

DAMN YOU ALL!!! We finally had a forst and the nights are finally getting confortable*. Our temps are dropping here but not fast enough for me.

* My definition of comfortable is usually in the low 60's -40's F. Freezing is damn nice and snow, sleet, fog and rain are perfect days.

I saw snow this morning, no accumulation. Now the sun is out and it is warming up (high 40s, low 50s).

Some flurries here in Wisconsin on Thursday but no accumulation. I'm still trying to troubleshoot my main pc's motherboard/memory problems. God bless working for an IT company and we're supplied laptops:).

Back to my batch of Oktoberfest I'm brewing up (procrastination will make it a Novemberfest but hey - it's beer! ).

[Shhh!. Ghul might be around and if he hears what you're up to he'll be all over that brew! LOL. Sounds quite tasty. Mmm, getting thirsty. I only drink beer in the fall starting with Octoberfest and in the winter with stout. Nice after snow shoveling or skiing sitting by the fireplace! ]

Yeah, powerless here in the recently-declared "disaster area." I'm invoking martial law. Actually, we got power (my fiancee and I) sometime today, but we weren't home.

Here's a true funny story though as it happened to me:

The power is out already (went out around midnight - 2 AM) when the phone rings (we make sure we keep a corded phone so communication does not have to rely on cell phones as not everyone we know has those numbers) and its the power company. Or rather, a telemarketer for the power company, acting as an energy broker, wanting to get us to switch to their service so we can save lots of money. So, my fiancee is the one talking, and she's like "ok, what's the deal?" and they give her the rigamarole, including "we're the same company as what you're using, but you'll get lots of savings." So, she says that to me, and I say "well, if they're the same company, ask why they haven't got our power back on." As she tries to say that, the phone dies, and stays dead.

Maybe not as funny as when it happened...
